What does it mean when a compressed file is corrupted

There are 3 possibilities:

1. It is the killing software that kills some programs in the file, resulting in the corruption of the compressed file.

3. When making compression software, the compression ratio is too large, resulting in the file being compressed. This method of damage repair is as follows:

1) First of all, open the main window, go to the directory where the damaged compressed file is located from the address bar, and select the damaged compressed file.

2) Click "Repair" on the toolbar with the mouse, and then select "Browse" on the drop-down menu, then a dialog box will pop up to select the location of the repair file.

3) Click "Repair" after setting, and the damaged compressed file will start to be repaired, and the whole process of repair will be displayed in the form of a dialog box.

4) Enter the directory where the repair file is stored, and you will find that a compressed file named or has been added to the directory, which is the file that is good for repair. Try to unzip it, and if everything looks good, the damaged compressed file has been repaired.

You can fix it and then open it, and the specific operation methods and steps are as follows:

1. In the first step, close the prompt box that prompts the error, and double-click to open the corrupted archive at the same time, as shown in the figure below, and then enter the next step.

2. Secondly, after completing the above steps, select the "Repair Compressed File" option from the "Tools" option in the top menu as shown in the image below, and then proceed to the next step.

3. Then, another way is to right-click directly on the icon of the corrupted archive file and select the "Extract File" option as shown in the figure below, and then proceed to the next step.

4. Finally, after completing the above steps, check the "Keep Corrupted Files" option in the decompression options as shown in the image below. After repairing, it can be decompressed normally.

If you want to repair CRC, there must be a recovery record in this RAR archive, and this recovery record is optional when the RAR archive is compressed.

In the window that pops up after right-clicking to unzip the file, select the "Keep corrupted files" checkbox and click OK to start the extraction. Ignore the error message, you will find that the corrupted file has been extracted after the decompression is finished. The chances of the corrupted file being able to work properly after such decompression are still very high.
