Hello! Matriarchal society.
Also known as matrilineal clan society, the early and middle stages of clan society are matrilineal clans, that is, social organizations based on matrilineal blood relations.
It is a clan system that calculates lineage and inherited property according to the matrilineal line, and is the first stage of clan society; In the early matriarchal clan system, the primitiveness of human physique basically disappeared, and it was called "new man", which belonged to the archaeological Paleolithic period.
In the late period, to the late matriarchal clan system, modern man was formed, which belongs to the Neolithic period.
In the early days, the fossils and cultural relics of new humans in China were all over the place, and their main representatives were Hetao people, Liujiang people, Shiyu people and cave people. Matrilineal clans practiced primitive communism and equal distribution of labor products, and early matrilineal clans had their own language and names, and the same clan had a common bloodline, worshipping a common ancestor, and clan members lived together during their lifetimes and were buried in a common clan cemetery after death.
Hope it helps!
Hope, thank you.

Science is always moving forward, and there is no "classic" in science.
There are still many people who believe that there was a "matriarchal social stage" in human history, which is to suffer the classic loss. The concept of matriarchal society was probably first proposed by the Swiss jurist Barhofen. The term "matriarchal society" matured and spread probably because of the American ethnologist Morgan 1871
The book "Ancient Society" was published in the year.
Barhofen and Morgan did not use modern scientific methods. Barhofen 1861
The book "Matriarchy", published in the same year, drew inspiration from ancient Greek mythology, while Morgan's judgment of the prehistoric relationship between men and women was mainly based on speculation. Morgan imagined that there must have been an "age of ignorance" in prehistory, a time in which sexual relations were very chaotic, and all men were the husbands of all women, and all women were the wives of all men. People in the age of ignorance had no private property, it was all public.
Later, human beings entered the agricultural society and began to have private property, so there was the concept of "home". However, prehistoric people did not know paternity testing, and they must have "only known their mothers but not their fathers", so the original "family" must have been centered on women, which is a matriarchal society. After the matrilineal society, the family was further stabilized, and there was a patrilineal society.
Morgan's idea was originally discussed only in academic circles. Later, a man named Engels sorted out his friend's belongings and found his friend's reading notes on Morgan's "Ancient Society". Engels took inspiration from this and made it part of one of his own grand narratives, in 1884
He published a book called The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State. This book has been regarded as a classic in some later countries and continues to influence primary and secondary school textbooks to this day.
These are nineteenth-century theories. Could it be that nearly 150 years have passed since Morgan and Engels, and scientists have nothing else to say about prehistoric society? Of course not!
The truth is that Morgan's set has never been really learned in academia, but has only been used as an ideological tool. Through archaeological discoveries, genetic sequencing, and through the investigation of some primitive communities that still exist around the world, anthropologists have developed a very mature understanding of the relationship between men and women in prehistory.
The picture is that human beings have never had a "matriarchal stage", but only in sporadic and individual communities.

China's matrilineal clan includes the Mosuo people, who live in the northwest of Yunnan Province, on the shore of the beautiful Lugu Lake in Lijiang City, where Sichuan and Yunnan meet, with a population of about 50,000. In Ninglang County, Yunnan Province, and Yanyuan, Muli County, Sichuan Province, in the eastern part of the Jinsha River, the population is about 40,000. There are more than 15,000 Mosuo people in Ninglang, mainly living in Yongning Bazi on the shore of Lugu Lake.
In the matrilineal family, the mother dominates everything, and the female sex has a high position in the family. The members of the family are all descendants of a mother or grandmother. No man marries a woman in the family, and no woman marries, and the woman lives with her mother for the rest of her life.
The man goes to the house of the female Axia at night and goes back to his mother's house early in the morning to give birth and live, which is called the "walking marriage" of the Mosuo people.
And the woman is at home, waiting for the male Asha to visit at night, and the family members are all relatives of maternal blood, and there are no members of the father's and friend's sedan chair relatives. Property is inherited according to motherhood, and the lineage of family members is completely calculated on the maternal line, and there is no relationship between son-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, sister-in-law, uncle and nephew in the family. The children of the sisters in the family are the dearest children of the family, regardless of each other.
