Both the dry and wet paving methods use cement and sand as the binder material to pave tiles.
Introduction to dry and wet paving:
Dry paving method: After the ground is cleaned and first sprinkled with water, dry and hard cement mortar is first padd as the base layer, and then cement mortar is applied on the back of the brick to pave the tiles.
Wet paving method: the construction method of directly using cement mortar to apply the back of the brick and paste it on the top of the facing layer.
The main differences between the two:
1. The dry paving method is often used for the paving construction of ground tiles, while the wet paving method is often used for the paving of wall tiles;
2. Compared with wet paving, the dry paving method requires the cement mortar to be applied on the back of the brick, and the dry paving method needs to lay the dry ash layer of hard cement mortar at the base layer.
3. The thickness of the space occupied by the two is also different, the thickness of the dry paving method of ceramic tile and cement mortar layer is about 4-6cm, and the thickness of wet paving method of ceramic tile and cement mortar is about 2cm.
Attached: dry hard cement mortar.
Dry hard cement mortar is a cement mortar with a relatively low degree of collapse, the volume ratio of cement sand is 1:2-1:3, add a small amount of water and stir evenly to configure it into a dry cement mortar, and its water-containing state is to configure the cement in a meter high and loosen the hands to fall freely on the ground and spread out to be scattered, that is, "hand holding into a group, falling to the ground and flowering", and the mortar is prepared in this state.
In the dry paving method, the treatment layer of dry hard cement mortar is laid, which is commonly known as the dry ash layer in the dry paving of ceramic tiles.

When many friends are decorating, they will be entangled in whether the floor tiles are dry or wet. After reading this**, you will understand the mystery, don't be fooled by the contractor, otherwise the effect will be poor at spending a lot of money!

1. The methods are different.
Wet paving refers to a method of paving tiles during decoration, that is, directly take cement to wipe behind the tiles, and then directly paved on the wall or ground, the wall tiles are used wet paving, small bricks and the ground flatness is better with wet paving, which can save the thickness of the ground.
Dry paving method is the floor tiles, theoretically speaking, the dry paving method should be used, and the base layer is watered and moistened, and the floating sand and debris are removed.
2. The effect is different.
When the floor tiles are wet paved, the wet paving is due to the more moisture in the mortar, and the water is unbridled and evaporated in the solidification process, which is very tolerant of some small bubbles, so that there is a gap between the floor tiles and the mortar, thus causing the hollowing phenomenon. Therefore, the use of wet paving for ground paving has been gradually eliminated.
The dry paving method effectively avoids the cracking of bubbles, hollowing and other phenomena caused by the ground brick in the paving process, but because the dry paving method of the ground tile is more labor-intensive, and the technical content is higher, the cost of the general dry paving method is much higher than that of the wet paving method.
3. The functions are different.
Before the tile paving, the treatment requirements of the base layer are much higher than the requirements of the wet paving method, this is because the moisture is relatively less when the dry paving is done, once the base is not wet, then the base will absorb a large amount of water in the mortar, which leads to the mortar and the base layer are not firmly bonded, and the mortar of the wet paving method has a large water content, so the effect is much better than the dry paving in this regard.

What is the difference between dry and wet paving? Is it better to lay floor tiles dry or wet? Floor tile parquet generally has dry paving and wet paving, what is the difference between these methods?
When the floor tiles are dry-paved, the flatness of the floor tiles is lower than that of the wet paving, and it is easy to manipulate during the construction of the project.
Because there is less water when dry paving, there will be no bubbles, and there will be very little bulging, while wet paving will have a lot of small bubbles, and after the cement mortar condenses, because of the evaporation of the vapor, it will occur the situation of bulging. During the construction of the project, the dry paving can be completed at one time to find the bottom layer of the cement mortar bond, and the level of the cement mortar is more suitable for adjustment, and the circulation of the cement mortar is very large if the wet paving is very large, if the bottom layer is thin and thick, it is more difficult to level the ground at one time.
Dry paste method: Scientifically speaking, the dry paste method should be used to water the bottom layer to remove floating sand and dirt. Wipe the bonding layer, apply a one-to-three dry concrete mortar, pave and level according to the straight line, put the bricks on the mortar and put a set of rubber hammer to vibrate, take out the ground tiles and pour the cement mortar, and then put the ground tiles on the ground to vibrate and flat.
The selection of dry paste method reasonably avoids the appearance of small bubbles, bulging and other situations caused by the laying of ground tiles, but because the dry paste method of ground tiles is more time-consuming, the scientific and technological content is relatively high, and the price of dry paving method is also very high.
Wet paving method: is a lot of home decoration community owners widely used floor tile paving method, the difference between this layer of processing technology and dry paving method is replaced by a three-to-three dry concrete mortar for general water and concrete mortar. The selection of wet paving method of tile floor may cause wall hollowing and bubbles, interfering with the service life of the floor tiles, but because the wet paving method is simple in actual operation and the price is very low, the vast majority of home paving floor tiles should also use wet paving method.
Dry paving and wet paving is the two ways of pavement floor tile parquet, from the overall actual effect, the quality of dry paving and wet paving is actually similar, just for different conditions to choose the method is not the same, from the details of the words, dry paving will lead to less bulging situation, if you want to reduce the empty drum rate, before using to soak in water for 20min. Dry paving and wet paving are only different in construction technology, dry paving is easy to level the ground, but it is very easy to cause the wall to be hollow due to the unevenness of the joint layer, and the construction team should have a relatively high sense of responsibility. Due to the extremely low density of concrete cement, the wet paving method is not very easy to level the ground during the construction process, and it is suitable for the paving of smaller size floor tiles, and it is not easy to bulge.
-
In the past, when laying bricks, they were all wet paving, but now due to the improvement of technology, many construction teams will choose dry paving when decorating, and I personally think that the effect of dry paving is also better, and it is also very cost-effective.
-
The time required is not the same, the degree of firmness is different, and the wet laying of floor tiles is better, which can effectively avoid hollowing.
-
Dry paving method. Wipe the adhesive layer, use 1 - 3 dry cement mortar, flatten along the horizontal line, put the bricks on the mortar, compact them with a rubber hammer, remove the floor tiles, pour in the cement slurry, and then put the floor tiles on and shake them flat. The dry pavement method effectively avoids the occurrence of bubbles and cavitation phenomena generated in the process of floor tile paving.
However, due to the high labor intensity and high technical content of the dry pavement method of floor tiles, the general dry pavement method is better than the wet pavement method. The cost of the law is much higher.

Dry and wet are completely different. Generally, it is better to lay floor tiles or wet paving. The floor tiles laid in this way will be more adhesive and will not crack.
After the floor tiles are laid, as the owner, you can also roughly check the quality of the project. After the floor tiles are paved and the adhesive layer is dry, visually inspect the ground The ground after paving should be uniform in color, the surface should be smooth and clean, the horizontal and vertical joints should be perpendicular to each other, and the gaps should be uniform, the filling between the joints should not overflow or concave, and the joints between the dense materials should meet the requirements. If you need to parquet, the pattern should be complete and clear, and the color difference of the pure color should not be too large. >>>More
