Professionals who meet the registration conditions for the qualification examination for registered safety engineers, and have been evaluated for senior professional and technical positions before the date of issuance of the "Interim Provisions" (September 3, 2002), and have been engaged in safety production related business for 10 years, can be exempted from the two subjects of "Safety Production Management Knowledge" and "Safety Production Technology", and only participate in the examination of two subjects: "Safety Production Law and Related Legal Knowledge" and "Case Analysis of Work Safety Accidents".

2. Have a bachelor's degree in safety engineering and related majors, and have been engaged in safety production business for 3 years; or have a bachelor's degree in other majors, and have been engaged in safety production business for at least 5 years.
3. Have a second bachelor's degree in safety engineering and related majors, and have been engaged in safety production business for more than 2 years; or have a second bachelor's degree in other majors, and have been engaged in safety production business for at least 3 years.
4. Have a master's degree in safety engineering and related majors, and have been engaged in safety production business for 1 year; or have a master's degree in other majors, and have been engaged in safety production business for at least 2 years.
5. Have a doctorate degree and have been engaged in safety production business for 1 year.
