3dorbit enables users to control the view of 3D objects by clicking and dragging a pointing device.

In the 3D Dynamic Viewer view, you can display ambient, point, directional, and spot light sources defined by the light command. 3dorbit activates the 3D view in the current viewport. If the User Coordinate System (UCS) icon is on, the shaded 3D UCS icon for the current UCS is displayed in the 3D Dynamic Viewer view.

The 3D Motion Viewer view shows a turntable (a large circle bisected by four small circles). When 3dorbit is active, the viewing target remains motionless while the camera's position (or viewing point) moves around the target. The target point is the center of the turntable, not the center of the object being viewed.

Note that objects cannot be obtained while the 3dorbit command is active.

As you move the cursor between different parts of the turntable, the shape of the cursor icon changes to indicate the direction in which the rotation is viewed.

When the command is active, additional 3dorbit options can be accessed from the shortcut menu (right-click in the drawing area) in the drawing area or from the selection button in the 3D Dynamic Viewer toolbar. See "3dorbit shortcut menu".
