Abraham Li (1809-1865), statesman and thinker, 16th American** (term: March 4, 1861 – April 15, 1865), was the first American Republican**, recognized by George Washington and Franklin D. Roosevelt as one of the three greatest Americans in American history, and the first assassinated in history.
Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, in Harding County, Kentucky, to a poor family of shoemakers.
In 1816, Lincoln's family moved to southwestern Indian Ryna, where they cultivated land.
When he was 9 years old, Lincoln's mother died.
In 1830, the Lincolns moved to Illinois, where he made his first political speeches.
Lincoln gained influence among the public because of his criticism of slavery and his proposals for the benefit of the public cause, and because of his outstanding character, he was elected to the state legislature in 1834.
Two years later, Lincoln became a lawyer by self-taught, and soon became the leader of the Whig Party in the state legislature.
In 1846, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
In 1854, bourgeois advocates of abolition and the restriction of slavery in the northern states formed the Republican Party, and Lincoln soon became the leader of this new party.
In 1858, he delivered his famous speech "Family Disputes", calling for the restriction of the development of black slaves and the unification of the motherland.
The speech expressed the aspirations of the Northern bourgeoisie, as well as the will of the people of the whole country, and thus won Lincoln great prestige.
In 1860, Lincoln became the Republican Party's ** candidate, and in November, the election was announced, and he was elected the 16th ** of the United States with 2 million votes, but in the 10 southern states controlled by slave owners, he did not receive a single vote.
Shortly after Lincoln took office, Southern slave owners provoked the Civil War.
In this war, the burden on Lincoln's shoulders was incomparable to that of the vast majority of the United States in the past.
However, with his extraordinary perseverance and determination, he fulfilled his duty, and even when he was vilified, he never wavered in his direction: to restore the Union and abolish slavery.
In September 1862, Lincoln issued the famous Emancipation Proclamation, announcing the abolition of slavery and the emancipation of slaves.
The Civil War, which ended in a Northern victory in June 1864, marked the complete collapse of slavery.
On the night of April 15, 1865, Lincoln was assassinated at Ford's Theatre in Washington.
Lincoln was buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery on May 4.
Lincoln led the American people to maintain national unity, abolish slavery, remove obstacles to the development of capitalism, and promote the development of American history, and has been respected by the American people for more than 100 years.
Because of Lincoln's progressive role in American history, he was hailed as "a model for the rulers of the nation in a new era."
