The sponge is covered with the pigment squeezed in the paint box, and then spray some water on the sponge and then close the lid of the paint box to ensure that the pigment does not dry out and moisturize. The absorbent sponge can also absorb excess pigment and water, and the absorbent sponge can be washed and reused.
When using the fountain pen, squeeze the middle of the pen barrel hard, and when you see water droplets dripping down the pen head, it means that the water storage on the pen tip is relatively sufficient, and you can dip the pigment you need at this time.

Use of sponges:
Here, I introduce the types of natural or artificial sponges and the main ways to use them:
1- For water absorption:
Foreign income is high, natural sponge is very cheap for foreigners, but due to the high exchange rate, natural sponge is very luxurious for Chinese people, and few people are willing to use natural sponge to absorb water and wipe the table. Therefore, artificial sponges with good water absorption are good alternatives. It is necessary to use the absorbent sponge to control the moisture of watercolor and gouache painting.
However, it should be noted that artificial sponges often begin to harden after drying and the second use, and need to be soaked for a while and squeezed dry before they can absorb water!
2- Texture making:
Rocks, tree canopies, and all kinds of mottled textures, natural sponges can do the job. However, the artificial sponge needs to be DIY by the painter himself: using his fingernails, scraping with coarse sandpaper, tearing and other brutal methods.
We use a squeezed dry sponge, dip the color, transfer and emboss on the screen, which can simulate a variety of textures. You can also use a clean squeezed sponge to absorb some of the color on a semi-dry picture to form a "negative" texture.
3- Laminating paper: Use a sponge with good water absorption and more water absorption instead of a brush, which can well wet the drawing paper and water-based tape.
4-Cleaning and weakening the color layer. Moisten the dried layer with a paintbrush, then use a squeezed sponge to dip, wash, and dip again and again until you are satisfied.

After adding water first, screw, the pen body filled with water can be squeezed w squeeze a few times and the water will come out Then you can dip it in the solid color, but I don't recommend using a fountain pen... It will still feel better with the traditional pen, and the flexibility of use will be better

Unscrew the middle directly, pull out the stopper, add water, and screw it well, you can get out of the water, and you can use it to dip solid watercolor! It is also possible to dissolve water-soluble colored pencils!
It is recommended to apply vertically as much as possible, and do not press the pen barrel too hard without water, as it will drip and ruin the painting.

I am a pure amateur, directly unscrew the middle, pull out a plug, add water, screw it, and you can show it within a few strokes.
When the water is gone, you can use it for watercolor cakes! It can also be used to dissolve water-soluble color pencils!
Personally, I feel that the water output of cherry blossoms is very small, and the cheap watercolor cake is too dry to use a fountain pen. However, the amount of water is small, and the colored pencil is very good.
After using it, I washed it in time, and my bristles were dyed and couldn't be washed clean.

In fact, if you plan to have a more in-depth study of color, rather than a superficial taste, the raw materials are not divided into beginners and advanced ones. If the economic conditions allow, I still recommend that you start to learn to draw and put the materials in place in one step, otherwise you will find that you still have to buy better materials, and the materials you think beginners should have when you buy them in the front will be wasted, which is actually more expensive. >>>More
