It turns out that salt water can lower the temperature, but ordinary water cannot, and the greater the temperature difference between water and ice, the faster the ice will dissolve. The reason why the ice water dissolved in the salt water floats on the surface of the water is that the density of the salt water is greater than the density of the dissolved ice water, so it floats on the surface of the water, and the density of ordinary water is the same as the density of the dissolved ice water. According to the principle of hot and cold, it moves downward.
So what is density? For example, when we say that iron is heavier than cotton, it actually means that iron is denser.
