After the Battle of Chibi, Lu Su was often compared by Sun Quan to Deng Yu, the head of the founding fathers of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Sun Quan specially set up the post of Captain of the Zan Military Academy for Lu Su. After the death of Zhou Yu, Sun Quan Zhou Yu suggested before his death that Lu Su should lead 4,000 troops on behalf of Zhou Yu.
According to the needs of the political and military situation at that time, Sun Quan appointed Lu Su as the Taishou of Hanchang and awarded the general; After Lu Su followed Sun Quan to break the city of Anhui, he was awarded the title of general of Hengjiang and guarded the land pass. After that, Eastern Wu seized the three counties of Jingzhou, Lu Su led his troops to resist Guan Yu, and invited Guan Yu, the defender of Jingzhou, to meet. When he went to the meeting alone, Lu Su's mouth was like a river, which made Guan Yu speechless.
In the twenty-second year of Jian'an (217), Lu Su died at the age of 46, Sun Quan personally mourned for Lu Su, and Zhuge Liang also mourned for him.
