Lionsgate has won the distribution rights to the film "Transporter 3," which is still starring Jason Statham. The first two films of "Extraordinary Human Traffickers" were both released by Twentieth Century Fox, and together the two films brought them about $130 million in global revenue.
Olivier Megaton replaced Louis Leterrier as the director of the third installment, but according to Lionsgate, the plot of the third installment builds on the first two.
And in addition to the protagonist Jason Statham who plays Frank Martin, the sequel is also joined by Robert Kneppper, who rose to fame for his role as the villain T-Bag in "Prison Break", and Francois Berleand, who starred in the movie "Place Vendome". Filming of the film, produced by Europacorp, ended last month and is currently in post-production and is expected to be released on November 26, 2008.
