To show or hide the Tools panel, choose Window > Tools.
Select a tool. Do one of the following:
Click the tool in the Tools panel. Depending on the tool selected, a set of function keys may appear in the options area at the bottom of the Tools panel.
Press the keyboard shortcut for the tool. To view keyboard shortcuts, select > Keyboard Shortcuts (Windows).
or Flash> Keyboard Shortcuts (Macintosh). In Macintosh, you may need to move your mouse to see a new pointer appear.
To select a tool that is in the pop-up menu of a visible tool, such as the Rectangle tool, touch and hold the icon for the visible tool, and then select another tool from the pop-up menu.
Customize the tool panel.
To specify which tools are displayed in the authoring environment, use the Customize Tools Panel dialog box to add or remove tools from the Tools panel.
If more than one tool is displayed in a location, an arrow appears in the lower-right corner of the top-level tool (most recent tool) icon in the group. This arrow indicates that there are other tools in the pop-up menu.
All tools in the pop-up menu use the same keyboard shortcuts. When you hold down the mouse button on the icon, the other tools in the group appear in the pop-up menu.
To display the Customize Palette dialog box, do one of the following:
Windows) select > Customize Tools Panel.
Macintosh) Select Flash > Customize Palette.
The Available Tools menu indicates which tools are currently available. The Current Selection menu indicates the tool currently assigned to the selected location in the Tools panel.
To cycle through tools to specify a location or assign other tools, click a tool in the Tools panel image or use the arrows.
To add a tool to the selected location, select the tool in the Available Tools list, and then click Add. You can assign a tool to multiple locations.
To remove a tool from a selected location, select the tool in the Current Selection scrolling list, and then click Delete.
To restore the default palette layout, click Restore Defaults in the Customize Palette dialog box.
Click OK to apply your changes and close the Customize Palettes dialog box.
