Separators are divided into two categories: normal separators and section separators. And both of them have the function of changing pages at the same time. Note that section separators are all stronger than normal separators (the former is in the "Insert" -> separator "-> section break type", and the latter is also in the same dialog), so the section break is stronger than the normal page break.
Because you may need to use a page break in the same chapter, then this page change is a normal separator.
In general, page breaks between chapters are done with section breaks, while page breaks between articles within chapters are normal page breaks (considering that the header usually uses the chapter name, it is common to unlink the previous section from the header).

In the page layout option of Word you can add separators, and there are many types of separators. For details, see the following steps.

There are four types of separators in Word: page breaks, column breaks, line breaks, and section breaks, which serve the following purposes:
1. Page breaks.
Mark the point where one page ends and the next one begins. If you want to put the title at the beginning of the page or put ** in its entirety on a page, just insert a page break in the pagination area. When entering text in Word, Word will automatically wrap when the text fills a line according to the parameters in the page settings, and automatically pagination after filling a page, which is called automatic pagination, and page breaks can make the document force pagination from the position where the page break is inserted.
2. Column breaks.
Indicates that the text after the column break will start in the next column. If a document as well as some paragraphs are partitioned, the word document will be automatically partitioned to the appropriate position. If you want the content to appear at the top of the next column, you can insert a column break in the function bar.
3. Line breaks.
Separate text around objects on a web page, such as separating caption text from the body text. The text will continue to be blank on the next line (blank lines do not contain alignment with left or right margins.)
Usually, when the text reaches the right margin of the document page, Word will wrap automatically. In the Separator bridge dialog box, select Line Break, and then click OK (or press Shift+Enter directly) to force a line break at the insertion point (line breaks are displayed in a gray "" shape). Unlike pressing enter directly, the new line generated by this method will still be part of the pure segment of the current line.
4. Section breaks.
Sections are part of the document. Before inserting section characters, Word treats the entire document as a section. When you need to change the row number, number of columns or footer, margins, and other features, you need to create a new section.
