Why do I say it's possible? Because there is not only one answer to this question, the answer to this question can only be made according to the level of the person you are referring to as a practitioner.
Although there are many answers, in general, there are three kinds, one is indeed a person who does not fall into cause and effect, but this kind of person is the least, one is a person who does not know cause and effect, this kind of person is very rare, and one is a person who is not aware of cause and effect, and this kind of person is the most.
You may be asking, why does the first type of person who does not fall into cause and effect happen? According to the examples of several stories in the Ahama Sutra, those people who have attained nirvana have no cause and effect, so this answer is generated, and of course the Buddha himself is also a special case.
But this kind of person who does not fall into cause and effect is a very diligent person, and this old elder, because he is not such a person, so he makes an answer that does not fit himself, and he will be punished by the wild fox body, because generally speaking, we should take the majority as the standard, not a very few.

I'm a fox. The old man said. "Like you, I used to cultivate in the mountains and preach the scriptures.
A practitioner came to me and asked me, "Will a great practitioner still fall into cause and effect?" I said, 'No cause or effect.' Because I answered this sentence incorrectly, after I died, I fell into the animal road and became a wild fox for 500 years.
Now that the time has come for me to be a fox, can I ask the master to give me a lecture on this question: Will great cultivators still fall into cause and effect? Let me take off this wild fox.
Baizhang said: "I don't know cause and effect. ”
The old man came to his senses, thanked him and left.
The next day, Baizhang led his apprentices to find the corpse of a wild fox in the back mountain, and his body was peaceful and soft. It's the fox who asked the law yesterday.
Baizhang closed his eyes and pondered, then opened his eyes with a clear gaze, and said to his apprentice: Just one word difference, we fell into evil taste, and became a fox for five hundred generations, when we spread wisdom, how can we be careless?
When I read this, my heart sank, and like the author's perception, I remembered that our daily words, especially those who preach and teach and solve doubts, can not be cautious and mislead others and ourselves?
The so-called cause and effect, according to the Dharma, the great practitioner cannot transcend cause and effect, and is still in the cause and effect, and cannot not fall behind, but can only be ignorant and ambiguous, and is clearly aware of cause and effect, and does not think that he is happy when he obtains good results, and does not think he suffers when he suffers evil consequences, and this is the attitude of true practitioners.
Teach the right way to solve doubts, and take the heart of kindness and cultivation as the original intention of teaching others.

I once chatted with a senior brother and asked them: If a person makes a fortune, but his wealth is all by abducting and deceiving customers, will there be karma? Does cause and effect exist? It is also correct to say that it exists, for example, when we plant a seed, it is the cause, and when it sprouts, blossoms and bears fruit, it is the fruit. But there is another situation, when we plant a seed, there is no condition, and it is impossible to expect it to sprout, blossom and bear fruit.
I have also seen too many religious people, abducting and deceiving for huge profits, spending all their days drinking and lusting, aren't they afraid of cause and effect? Because cause and effect are just what they tell others, but they never believe it.
People who are really worried about cause and effect have already gone to practice, and they will not be in the red dust world.
So as long as you work hard to make money, sometimes you should use some routines to use some routines to do flickering appropriately, there is no need to have so many psychological burdens, because there are many aspects of life, in addition to making money, we also have a family, so when you worry about making money because of cause and effect, you will lose your family. How can you make up for that aspect of cause and effect?
