Wen Yiduo (November 24, 1899, July 15, 1946), whose real name is Wen Jiahua, was born in Xishui County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, and is a representative poet and scholar of the Crescent School.
In 1910, Wen Yiduo came to Wuchang from his hometown and was admitted to the Higher Primary School Affiliated to Lianghu Normal School. After a while, this teenager who came out of a closed town was admitted to Tsinghua School and became the first Tsinghua graduate to study art in the United States.
In 1916, he began to publish a series of reading notes in Tsinghua Weekly. In March 1925, while studying in the United States, he composed "The Song of the Seven Sons", and the lyrics of the theme song of Macao's return to the motherland were adapted from the group of poems "The Song of the Seven Sons" written by Wen Yiduo when he was in the United States. As early as the second year of Wen Yiduo's study in the United States, he published his first collection of poems "Red Candle", expressing his ardent thoughts and praise for the motherland.
In January 1928, he published his second collection of poems, Dead Water.
In 1932, Wen Yiduo returned to Tsinghua Garden from abroad, and he stayed in Tsinghua for five years, which can be said to be the most stable period of Wen Yiduo's life. Wen Yiduo has formulated a huge academic plan for himself, from "Mao Ze Poems", "Chu Ci", to "Quantang Poems", all of which are included in his scope of study.
At about five o'clock in the afternoon of July 15, 1946, Wen Yiduo, a professor at Southwest Associated University and a progressive democrat, and his eldest son, Wen Lihe, were walking to their dormitory in Xicangpo. Just when Wen Yiduo's father and son were about to arrive home, gunshots came from behind. The frightened Wen Lihe immediately pounced on his father and shouted:
