I used to work in Canada. It's just during the study abroad period. In general, it is very different from the part-time life in China. There are many ways to earn money by working while studying in Canada.

In Canada, I spent my parents' hard-earned money to study abroad, and I wanted to earn my own money to reduce their burden, so I applied for off-campus jobs (you can usually apply to the school, but the part-time hours cannot exceed 20 hours per week). Looking back now, the days of part-time work were indeed very difficult. During my study abroad, I tried most of the manual jobs in Canada, including moving, mowing the lawn, washing dishes, helping the cook, etc., although it was hard, but it was also quite interesting.

I remember one of my most satisfying jobs was working as a waitress at a restaurant owned by a Korean, because I had to tip when I ate at a Canadian restaurant, and I earned a lot of money. Sometimes it is common for guests to eat happily and give you a tip of 20 Canadian dollars for a meal, and some foreigners prefer to chat with the waiter in the restaurant, so this also helped me improve my spoken English.

Don't underestimate this humble job, it's not easy to do it well, my first day on the job, the boss asked me to memorize the menu and table numbers. There are more than 30 table numbers and more than 20 dish names, and you have to memorize them within two days, otherwise there is no way to pass the dishes and help the guests order. At the beginning, when I was busy, I had to pass food and order, and I had to serve tea and pour water for the guests, so I was so busy that I would often remember the name of the dish and the table number wrongly.

Two weeks later, I was able to do it well, and I could still memorize the names of the dishes in Korean, and I practiced the "kung fu" of being able to serve three dishes with one hand. Finally, when I was about to leave this Korean restaurant, the owner gave me a brush engraved with traditional Korean face masks that I brought back from Korea, which I still treasure.

So when you go abroad to work, you must have your own goals. If the initial goal is insufficient, you can try various tasks first.
