Wu Zetian (February 17, 624, December 16, 705) was of Han nationality. The only orthodox female emperor in Chinese history (during the Tang Gaozong era, there was a civil uprising, there was a female emperor Chen Shuozhen), and she was also the oldest emperor to succeed to the throne (ascended to the throne at the age of 67) and one of the longest-lived emperors (at the age of 82). Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty was the empress (655-683), Zhongzong of the Tang Dynasty and Emperor Ruizong of the Tang Dynasty were the empress dowagers (683-690), and later established himself as the Emperor of the Wuzhou Dynasty (690-705), changed the name of the country from "Tang" to "Zhou", set the capital of Luoyang, and named it the "Divine Capital".
Historically known as "Wu Zhou" or "Southern Zhou", he abdicated in 705. Wu Zetian was also a poetess and politician. In the first month of the first year of Shenlong (705) in the later years of the Wu family, Zhang Cambodia, Huan Yanfan, Cui Xuan, Jinghui and others jointly launched a coup d'état with Li Duozuo, the general of the right Yulin, and killed Wu Zetian's male favorites Zhang Changzong and Zhang Yizhi's two brothers, forcing Wu Zetian to abdicate and Yingzhongzong to reinstate.
After Wu Zetian was forced to abdicate, he moved from Miyagi to Shangyang Palace in the southwest of Luoyang City. 82 years old, frail body, lost mood, lonely old age. In November of the same year, Wu Zetian died of depression.

Before and after his reign, he was "discerning and decisive", having more power and strategy, knowing people and being good at their duties, attaching importance to the selection of talents, and creating a system of palace examinations, martial arts examinations and trial officials. He also rewarded farmers and reformed the rule of officials.
From the reign of Wu Zetian to the establishment of Wu Zhou, local wars with neighboring countries rose and fell, with Wu Zhou's victories being the majority. During Wu Zetian's 15-year reign, he basically maintained the unity of the empire.
