At this time, the egg membrane outside the fertilized egg has fully absorbed water and expanded, and the zygote can be transposed in the egg membrane, so that the animal pole of the fertilized egg is facing upward, the plant pole is facing down, and a gray-black egg mass can be seen on the water surface, which is the appropriate time to collect eggs. In order to ensure timely egg collection, during the spawning season, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection of the spawning pool in order to find the egg masses in time.

In the evening when male frogs chirp frequently, it is especially necessary to observe the situation of the parent frogs hugging each other. Generally, the place where the frog hugged the right one the night before is the place where the eggs are laid the next day. This allows for purposeful detection of egg masses and avoids missing them.

When collecting eggs, use scissors to cut off the aquatic plants adhered to the egg mass, and do not pull hard, so as not to break the egg membrane and affect the hatching. The harvested egg masses should be quickly moved into the hatching tank. It is best to put 1 hatching pool for 1 egg mass.

If the hatching pond area is large and multiple egg masses must be placed, the eggs laid on the same day should be placed to ensure synchronous hatching, so as to avoid different sizes of tadpoles in the hatching pool due to the sequential incubation, which will affect the tadpoles out of the pond stocking.

2.Hatch density.

The density of incubation is directly related to hatchability. When using a hatchery tank for still water incubation, only 6,000 eggs per square meter can be placed; If incubation is carried out in micro-flowing water or cages, the hatching density can be increased to 8,000 to 10,000 eggs per square meter.

3.The environmental conditions required for incubation.

The hatching of bullfrog eggs is closely related to the water temperature. The water temperature required for incubation is 20 31 and the optimal water temperature is 25 28. The suitable pH of the water for incubation is that the acidic water has less oxygen, which will affect the incubation, soften the egg membrane, flatten the egg, and cause the egg to break the membrane and die.

Hatching water should have sufficient oxygen, the amount of dissolved oxygen in general water should not be less than 3 milliliters, less than 3 milliliters will cause the death of eggs.

4.Management during incubation.

The temperature of the water in the hatching pond is high due to direct sunlight at noon, and the temperature is low at night or on rainy days, resulting in a large temperature difference between day and night, which affects the hatching rate. A canopy should be built above the hatching tank for shade, and at night it should also be covered on top of the hatching tank to keep the temperature stable. During the incubation period, the development of the embryo should be observed frequently, and the dead eggs should be removed in time to avoid spreading and affecting the water quality.

After tadpoles hatch, due to the dissolution of the egg membrane, a large amount of oxygen in the water will be consumed, resulting in a lack of oxygen in the water and deterioration of water quality. At this time, it is necessary to take appropriate running water or change the water. Newly hatched tadpoles, with poor swimming ability, often suck on the wall of the hatching container or aquatic plants, and should be stirred less so as not to affect the tadpole's rest and survival rate.
