How often does a water purifier usually need to change the filter element?

The water purifier can filter out impurities such as sediment in the water source to ensure the health of drinking water, and the most important part in this is the filter element. There are various materials in the filter element, and it needs to be replaced after a period of time, otherwise there will be more dirty things isolated on the filter element, which will affect the filtration effect. So how often does it take to replace the filter?

There are many types of filter elements for water purifiers, and different filter elements are replaced at different rates. PP cotton filter cartridge 3-6 months; Reverse osmosis membrane (RO) filter cartridge is about 2 years; The rear activated carbon (small T33, large T33) filter element is about one year bridge-resistant; Hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane (UF) filter element for more than 3 years; Finely washed coconut shell activated carbon filter cartridge for half a year to one year.

It should be noted that the product that only replaces the filter element does not guarantee that the inner wall of the housing and the outlet pipe are free of secondary contamination.

1.Before replacing the filter element, we need to turn off the power of the water purifier to better protect our safety. After that, we can use some gadgets to remove the cartridge bucket.

2.When the filter is removed, there will be a clear gasket on the filter. We need to place it properly.

If it is lost, the effect of subsequent use will be greatly reduced. Before installing the cartridge, rinse the new cartridge with clean water and use a small tool to install the cartridge in place. Turn on the water inlet and power, put it in the water for one to two minutes, and check for leaks.

If not, install the filter cartridge of the water purifier.

3.Clean the water purifier regularly. The water storage tank and inner tank of the water purifier need to be cleaned about once every three months.

Of course, we can also wipe it directly with a clean rag. After cleaning, we also need to rinse with clean water 3 times. This is mainly to check if there are water droplets inside the water purifier to avoid short circuits caused by water droplets.

It's better to replace it.

In fact, the lifetime of the filter element needs to be considered in combination with filtration and adsorption. If there are fewer large particles in the water, the filter may not be clogged for several years, but a large number of heavy metal ions, microorganisms and other harmful substances may still accumulate on the filter.

A more intuitive example of activating carbon is given. As the amount of filtered water increases, the contaminants in the water will gradually fill the pores of the activated carbon. When the pores of the activated carbon particles are filled, the filter element does not have the ability to continue to adsorb contaminants.

Cartridge Replacement Interval:

1. Hollow fiber Sakura no ultrafiltration membrane (UF) filter element for 3 years or more.

2. The reverse osmosis membrane (RO) filter element is about 3 years.

3. Granular fine cleaning coconut shell activated carbon filter element for half a year to one year.

4. Bulk sintered activated carbon (CTO) filter element for half a year to one year.

5. PP cotton filter element for 3-6 months.

6. KDF filter element for 2-3 years.

Generally, PP cotton is 3-6 months, activated carbon is generally 8-12 months, ultrafiltration membrane is 12-24 months, RO membrane is 12-24 months, and ceramic filter element is 12-22 months.

The water purifier should be rinsed for the first time to flush out the protective liquid in the water purifier by following the method: open the tap faucet, tap water inlet ball valve, and purification faucet, and rinse for 15 minutes until the produced water is clear and foam-free.

Frequent opening and closing of the tap (off for 3 seconds, on for 10 seconds) during the flushing process will make the water flow form a pulsating impact, which will make the flushing effect better.

After that, turn off the sewage faucet, turn on the purification faucet, and use it normally after 5 minutes of water production.

It is recommended to open the tap to rinse after taking the purified water, so as to wash away the intercepted pollutants in time to maintain the high water flux of the water purifier, so as to prolong the service life.

Different types of filters have different types of filters that last for different periods of time. For example, the recommended replacement cycle for PP polypropylene meltblown filter element is 6 months, the recommended replacement cycle for granular activated carbon filter element is 9 months, the recommended replacement cycle for sintered activated carbon filter element is 1 year, and the recommended replacement cycle for ultrafiltration membrane filter element is 2 years.
