Words and deeds that contribute to enlightenment and Buddhahood are called merits.

If the mind is not attached to the reward of doing good, all good deeds will have merit.

A person's motivation is the most important thing, and if a person does not have a good intention, he will not be able to make merits. To give a simple example, there are many people in the world who like to transmit negative energy to others when they are not moving, telling others that they have a lot of hatred and dissatisfaction in their hearts. Why do so many people have accidents?

It is to first tell others about his grievances, tell them a lot, hope to get their sympathy, and then want to get help from others.

For a person who has "me".

"Selflessness" is the cultivation of the six realms. What does this mean? Because there's nothing in this world that I'm not happy about, there's nothing I hate, because in this world we're just passers-by.

All the things that are doing are non-doing, so the self-being is the merit in the Dharmakaya, that is, all the things that you do after you have understood the Dharma, are all merits. You know that you are a bodhisattva, that's why you do this, and that's two concepts of simply cultivating happiness and longevity. A lot of people kneel in front of the Bodhisattva, and they kneel down as a Bodhisattva, and some people kneel down as a Bodhisattva, and some people are still thinking about the things they did in the past, and the Bodhisattva sees that you are a beast, because the things you talk about in your mouth are still those things that are very much in the world, and you are not valuable, and you have to understand these truths.

In studying Buddhism, you should not only cultivate blessings, but also really make merits, and completely elevate the good deeds you have done to the level of a bodhisattva, so what you do is merit.

Merit is a Buddhist term. But the requirements for merit are relatively high, and everything that is beyond one's ability is merit. For example, saving people, or rather, a beggar who donates rice to the temple by asking for rice is a merit.

If you are the richest man, the money you donate can only be exchanged for merit. If you can convince the bad guy to put down the butcher's knife, that's merit.

Merit: "Merit is good deeds, virtue is kindness." To put it simply, gong is a kind of power; Virtue is a kind of self-cultivation, and sublimating self-cultivation into a kind of power (i.e., wisdom) to help others is called merit.

Essentially, merit is altruistic. Merit is spiritual, the wisdom of inaction that cannot be touched or seen. The heart is for him, and he does not seek retribution, and his retribution is merit.

Everyone makes merit every day, but many people don't necessarily know the meaning of real merit. Actually, merit is that you have to do things on the Bodhi path, that is, to do the things of a bodhisattva, and everything you do has to achieve the path of shravaka, enlightenment, bodhisattva and Buddhahood. What does this mean?

That is to say, the good deeds done in the world will be rewarded with goodness, but if they are reported, they will be gone. Many people say, "I'll do something good, but when disaster strikes, there's no way to counteract your disaster because you've already repaid what you've done." For example, if you try your best to do good deeds and help others, and you ask the Bodhisattva to have a child, and in the end you get it, then the karma of all the good deeds you have done will be gone, and when you have a calamity or a calamity, you will only have to suffer karma.

World-honored! If the Bodhi, Nirvana, Truthfulness, Buddha-nature, Enlightenment, Emptiness, and Great Circle Mirror Wisdom are the seven kinds of names, although the titles are different, they are pure and complete, and the body is solid, such as the Vajra type dust king, and the permanent residence is not bad.

In the following, Venerable Ananda explains the seven merits of our pursuit of the fruit of the Buddha path.

The first one is:Bodhi(We will illustrate below based on the annotations of Master Yu Yi, who spoke relatively simply and concisely). What is Bodhi called? The elimination of the two obstacles is called Bodhi.

It is a kind of wisdom and virtue, which is achieved through the wisdom of emptiness, dharma, and emptiness to eliminate the obstacles of affliction and knowledge, and what is achieved at this time is called Bodhi. This is about the light of wisdom.

The second,Nirvana。Nirvana is the Covenant Virtue. What is Nirvana? Cut off the two deaths. By breaking off the two kinds of birth and death, segmentation and mutation, and achieving this state of silence, we establish nirvana.

The third,True。That's true. Don't be false; Not different, different is the difference of mutation, not different name such as.

This truth, whether it is in the past, whether it is in the present, whether it is in the future, whether you go to heaven or hell, this truth is always true and will never change. The essence of our mind is to be detached from all appearances, that is, all dharmas, which have been the past, are now, and will be the future as they are, and are true and unchangeable.

The fourth,Buddha nature。What is Buddha-nature? Unchanging and not bad, it is called Buddha nature. It has no birth or death, no arising, no change, no disappearance, and it is called Buddha-nature.

The fifth,Ummara knowledge。Of course, this consciousness is the ability to separate, the ability to distinguish everything without staining. When his clear heart separates the external color, sound, fragrance, and touch, it will not stick to the six dusts and will not be stained.

Ummara knowledgeThe sixth,Empty as to hide。Emptiness is the only true heart, let alone anything else, which refers to a kind of wisdom that is free from all appearances.

The seventh,Big Circle Mirror Wisdom。What is the wisdom of the Great Circle Mirror? It is the hole that illuminates all laws, and there is no difference. When observing all the Dharma, there is no false distinction.

This Anmara consciousness and the Great Circle Mirror Wisdom are actually the same thing, but the Angmara Consciousness is about leaving the fault, and the Great Circle Mirror Wisdom is about the part of generating goodness and generating merit. There are differences in this place, one is to leave, and the other is to be good.

Venerable Ananda said that although the names of the merits of the above seven Mahayana fruits are different, their physical qualities are pure, they are all complete and full of all merits, and they are solid and indestructible, just like King Vajrayogini is permanent and indestructible.

Venerable Ananda first explained the seven merits of becoming a Buddha, emphasizing that these are all non-becoming, imperishable, and indestructible.

The sponsor is actually the benefactor. It is also the benefactor and Tanyue who supports the three treasures of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.

In Buddhism, those who give away pure wealth are the sponsors, and those who are dedicated to doing business or enthusiastically attracting others to Buddhism so that Buddhism can flourish can also be called sponsors.

For example, if the following conditions are met, the Fo Guang Shan merit master will be hired according to law to become the merit of the cherry blossom master:

    1. Those who support the various causes of Dharma propagation and benefit in Benshan and donate net funds.

    2. Those who enthusiastically participate in the activities of Benshan and have not retreated for many years.

    3. Those who have served for many years and have a strong heart.

    4. One teacher works together to recruit meritorious people.

    5. Those who contribute wisdom and have concrete results.

    6. Assist the people to take refuge in a large number.

    7. Those who have participated in lectures for many years and have correct views.

    8. Those who have contributed to the promotion of Buddhism in written works.

In a relationship, the real letting go is not that you hate him when you think of him, not that you will blame him when you think of him, nor that you remember him badly when you think of him, not to mention that you can't remember anything related to him when you think of him, and the real letting go is a kind of thinking about him, you will still remember the warmth he once gave you, and you still haven't forgotten the bits and pieces that the two people have experienced together, but all of these you know are just memories and experiences. You only regard them as a thing of the past, you will no longer have any unwillingness, no more regrets, and no more thoughts about what you want to do with him, so letting go is not deliberately not remembering, but I still remember, but it is all in the past.
