On Thursday, our fifth-grade students took a car to Xue Fucheng's former residence. Along the way, everyone was very elated and wanted to enter Xue Fucheng's former residence as soon as possible.
The former residence of Xue Fucheng was built in 1890 and completed in 1894, covering an area of 21,000 square meters, of which 12,000 square meters have been restored and the construction area is more than 6,000 square meters. Xue Fucheng was a famous thinker, diplomat, and representative of the bourgeois reform faction from Wuxi, who served as the envoy of the Qing Dynasty.
As soon as we entered Xue Fucheng's former residence, we saw two lanterns with the words "Qin Envoy" written on it, and a sign of "Qin Envoy" written by the Qing Emperor himself, which made me feel that Xue Fucheng was a respectable and admirable person. After walking for a while, we came to the Tin Embroidery Museum, which was full of Chinese tin embroidery, some of them danced, some fluttered in the wind, and some floated in the sky. What a variety of forms!
After leaving the Tin Embroidery Museum, we came to the Clay Man Museum. There are many vivid clay figures in the clay figure museum, including the clay figure of Zhu Bajie eating watermelon, the clay figure of the Chinese national race, and the clay figure of learning from the West. Among them, my favorite are the clay figurines of the Chinese race, because they tell us that the Chinese nation is a huge and excellent nation with a long history, and I have gained a lot of knowledge.
We left the Clay Man Pavilion and came to Xue Fucheng Garden. The grass in the garden is verdant, the trees are towering, the flowers greet us with a smile, and the air is fresh and refreshing. As we walked on the gravel path of the garden, we could feel the fresh buds and the fragrance in the air, attracting bees, and we were already intoxicated at this moment, and we did not feel tired at all.
In the end, we reluctantly left this fairyland.
The former residence of Xue Fucheng has both the crystallization of the labor of the Chinese people and the beautiful scenery, which makes us linger, and I will definitely come to visit this paradise on earth again.
