I, the son of a peasant from the northeastern township of Gaomi in Shandong, China, stood on this world-renowned hall and won the Nobel Prize in Literature, which is very much like a fairy tale, but it is an unquestionable reality.

The experience of more than a month after winning the award made me realize the great impact and unshakable dignity of the Nobel Prize in Literature. I have been watching everything happen during this time, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to understand the world, but also an opportunity to recognize myself.

I know that there are many writers in the world who are deserved, even more deserving, than I am for this award; I believe that as long as they persist in writing, as long as they believe that literature is the glory of man and the right of God, then, "He will put a crown on your head and give you the crown." ”

I am well aware that literature has had little impact on the world's political strife and economic crisis, but its influence on people has a long history. When there is literature, we may not recognize its importance, but without literature, human life would be crude and barbaric.
