"Don't look outward" comes from a Buddhist theory: don't look outward.
The Buddha has long asserted that there is suffering if there is a request. He also said: There is no self-exaltation. The mind has no external objects, which is equivalent to nothingness.
Don't look outward to understand that you should focus on the Dharma and not look outward.
Go "beg". Buddhism.
It is believed that from the source of life, everything is originally sufficient and complete, and there is no need to pursue it outwardly, and all the Dharma is already sufficient in one's heart.
Don't ask for it" also comes from a famous saying: The way of the saint, I am self-sufficient, and I don't ask for anything else.
Source: Wang Yangming.
Mind - Dragon Field Enlightenment.
Interpretation: What is the way of a saint, that is, conscience, and conscience is shared by everyone. The criterion for judging right and wrong is conscience, not external things.
Allusion: Wang Yangming in Ming Wuzong.
In the first year of Zhengde (1506), he opposed the eunuch Liu Jin.
He was forty by the court staff, and was demoted to Guizhou Longchang (seventy miles northwest of Guiyang, Xiuwen County) as a post. Longchang is thin in the mountains, and seedlings and wingmen live together.
In the quiet and difficult environment of Longchang, Wang Yangming reflected day and night based on his experiences over the years. In the middle of the night, he suddenly had an epiphany, believing that the heart is the root of sensing all things, and thus put forward the proposition that the heart is reason. Realize that "the way of the saint is self-sufficient, and those who seek reason from it are also mistaken."
This is the famous "Dragon Field Enlightenment".

Don't look outward"This sentence comes from an ancient Chinese allusion called "Zhuangzi Foreign Things". Zhuangzi is one of the ancient Chinese philosophers, and his book Zhuangzi contains many philosophical stories and sayings.
In the story of "Zhuangzi and Foreign Things", there is a man called Mourning, who is very poor and has a difficult life. He heard that there was a magical jade out there that could help people get out of trouble, so he decided to go out and find this jade. He ran around and searched for a long time, but in the end he did not find the jade, but was exhausted from the long run.
Just when he was feeling hopeless, he was told, "Don't ask outward, but look inward." The meaning of this sentence is that one should not blindly hope for external things to change one's destiny, but should find true happiness and satisfaction through inner cultivation and development.
This story teaches us that the pursuit of external material wealth and fame does not bring true happiness and satisfaction. Instead, we should focus on inner cultivation and cultivate our own character and wisdom in order to attain true happiness and inner satisfaction.
Don't look outward"This phrase became a warning and exhortation, reminding people not to pursue material wealth and external vanity excessively, but to find true value and meaning from within.

Zen Master Fada became a monk at the age of seven, recited the "Lotus Sutra", after entering the tool, worshiped the six ancestors, and believed that "the Lotus Sutra has been recited and 3,000 parts", his head did not reach the ground, showing arrogance, and the six ancestors then showed to point out his faults: "Your name is Fada, and you have not stopped reciting diligently." Empty recitation but hearing the sound, the Bodhisattva of the clear heart.
After hearing this, Fada immediately understood his mistake of "reciting according to the text, how can he know the interest of the sect", so he apologized to the six ancestors and asked the six ancestors to explain the righteousness in the scriptures. The Sixth Patriarch then admonished him: "This scripture is born from karma.
Be careful not to misinterpret the meaning of the scriptures, and see that he 'enlightened and enlightened', and he is the 'Buddha's knowledge', and I have no point in my generation. If you do this, you will slander the scriptures and slander the Buddha. Since he is a Buddha and already has knowledge, why is it more 'open'?
You should believe now: Those who know the Buddha know and see, only your own heart, and there is no other Buddha! Gai for all sentient beings to cover their own light, greedy for the earthly realm, the outer edge of the internal disturbance, willing to be driven away, so he asked the world-honored from the samadhi, all kinds of bitter mouths, exhorting to sleep, do not seek from the outside, and the Buddha is no different, so the cloud 'open the Buddha's knowledge'.
The Sixth Patriarch emphasized that everyone has the "knowledge of the Buddha" in their hearts, and everyone has the possibility of becoming a Buddha through practice. Chanting alone is not enough, the key is to be clear-sighted. The Sixth Patriarch also pointed out that after seeing nature, it does not hinder the chanting of sutras, and makes a side:
The heart is obsessed with the Lotus and the mind is turned into the Lotus flower. Reciting for a long time does not know oneself, and righteousness is a family. If there is no thought, it is right, and if there is a thought, it becomes evil. Regardless of whether there is or not, the long royal white ox cart. "The Altar Sutra: Serendipity".

Don't ask for it from the outside" comes from a sentence in "Mencius: Lilou Shang": "Those who can't do anything will seek their own self, and their bodies will be righteous and the world will return to them." "It means:
If you don't succeed in doing things, encounter setbacks and difficulties, or don't get along well in interpersonal relationships, you have to self-reflect and find the reason for everything from yourself.
