3. Ji Xianlin believes that cultural exchange is one of the main driving forces for human progress. Human beings must learn from each other and complement each other's weaknesses in order to keep moving forward, and the ultimate goal of human progress must be a certain form of universal harmony. In the past 10 years, Ji Xianlin has actively participated in the discussion of Eastern and Western cultural issues in China, and has also implemented this idea.
Ji Xianlin divides human culture into four systems: the Chinese cultural system. The Indian cultural system, the Arab-Islamic cultural system, the European and American cultural systems from ancient Greece and Rome to the present, and the first three together form the Eastern cultural system, and the latter is the Western cultural system.
Ji Xianlin shouted for the revitalization of the Oriental nation and the revival of Oriental culture, and proposed that the changes between Eastern and Western cultures should be 30 years in Hedong and 30 years in Hexi, which caused strong repercussions in China. Ji Xianlin expresses a historical, macroscopic view, and is also a positive counterpoint to Eurocentrism, which has long ruled the world.
4. Ji Xianlin returned to China from Germany in 1946 and was hired by Peking University to establish the Department of Oriental Languages and open up the academic garden of Chinese Oriental Studies.
