When selecting a photovoltaic inverter, the first consideration should be to have sufficient rated power to meet the requirements of the equipment for electrical power under maximum load, as well as the expansion of the system and the access of some temporary loads.
When the electrical equipment is based on pure resistive load or the power factor is greater than that, the rated output power of the photovoltaic inverter is generally 10% 15% greater than the total power of the electrical equipment.
2. Adjustment performance of output voltage.
The adjustment performance of the output voltage indicates the voltage regulation ability of the output voltage of the PV inverter. Generally, photovoltaic inverter products give the percentage of the fluctuation deviation of the output voltage of the photovoltaic inverter when the DC input voltage changes within the allowable fluctuation range, which is usually called the voltage regulation rate. A high-performance PV inverter should also give a percentage deviation of the output voltage of the PV inverter when the load changes from zero to 100%, commonly known as the load regulation rate.
A high-performance PV inverter should have a voltage regulation of less than or equal to 3% and a load regulation of less than or equal to 6%.
3. The efficiency of the whole machine.
The efficiency of the whole unit indicates the power loss of the PV inverter itself. PV inverters with larger capacity also give efficiency values at full load and low load. Generally, the efficiency of the inverter below the kW level should be more than 85%; The efficiency of the 10kw class should be more than 90%; The efficiency of the higher power must be above 95%.
The efficiency of the inverter has an important impact on the effective power generation and reduction of power generation costs of the photovoltaic power generation system, so the selection of photovoltaic inverters should be compared as much as possible, and the products with higher efficiency of the whole machine should be selected.
4. Start-up performance.
The PV inverter should be guaranteed to start reliably at the rated load. High-performance PV inverters can be started at full load for many times in a row without damaging power switching devices and other circuits. For their own safety, small inverters sometimes use soft-start or current-limited start-up measures or circuits.
The above items are used as the main basis for the design and purchase of photovoltaic inverters, and are also important indicators to evaluate the technical performance of photovoltaic inverters.
