Bai in Er
Confucius was trapped in Chen Caidu, and the servant Zhi had no food for seven days. Zigong stole out of the siege and from the natives.
I went back to ask for some rice. Yan Hui and Zilu used these rice to cook in a dilapidated house. A piece of dust fell into the meal, and Yan Hui picked it up and ate it.
Zigong saw it next to the well, thinking that Yan Hui was stealing food, and he was very unhappy. Ask Confucius: "Will a benevolent and honest man change his temper when he is poor?"
Confucius said, "How can a person who changes his temper be called benevolent and incorruptible? Zigong said
Wouldn't people like Hui change their ways? Confucius said, "He won't."
Zigong told Confucius what he had seen. Confucius: "I have always believed Hui, even if you say so, I do not doubt him."
There must be a reason for this. You don't have to say it, I'll ask him. So he called Yan Hui and said:
I just dreamed of my ancestors, and I guess what it revealed to me. When you make a meal and bring it over, I will sacrifice it first. Yan Hui said
Just now a piece of dust fell into the meal, and it was not clean there, and it was a pity to throw it away, so I ate it. It cannot be used for sacrifice. Confucius said
Okay, I'll eat this too. Yan Hui went out, and Confucius said to Zigong: "I believe in Hui, and don't wait until today." ”

In Yan Yuan", Zizhang asked: "How is Shiru, Si can be described as a master." Zi said:
What is it, what is the so-called achiever? Zizhang said: "You must hear it in the state, and you must hear it at home."
Zi said: "It's smelling, it's not Daya." Those who are righteous and righteous are upright and righteous, observe words and looks, and consider the following people.
In Bang Bida, at home must be reached. Those who hear about it will not be suspicious of it, and they will hear it in the state and at home. ”
In the chapter of "Zi Lu", Zigong asked: "How can you be described as a man?" Zi said:
It is shameful to do oneself, to use it in all directions, and not to dishonor the king's life, which can be described as a gentleman. He said, "Dare to ask second."
Said: "The clan is called filial piety, and the township party is called the orange and the oak." "Said:
Dare to ask second. He said: "Words must be believed, deeds must be fruitful, the shin is a villain, or it can be endured to Lu as the second."
He said: "What is the politician like today? Zi said:
Belch! Those who fight crumbs, how can they count. ”
In the Ji family", Chen Kang asked Yu Boyu: "Does the son also have a strange smell? "Yes
Not yet. Trying independence, the carp tended to pass through the court, saying: 'Learn poetry next to the circle?
He said, 'No. ''If you don't learn poetry, you can't speak.''
The carp retreated to learn poetry. He was independent again, and the carp came to the court, saying: 'Learn etiquette?
He said, 'No. ''If you don't learn etiquette, you can't stand.''
The carp retreated to learn the ceremony. Wen Si both. Chen Kang retreated and said happily
Ask one and get three: listen to poetry, smell etiquette, and hear the gentleman's distant son. ”

Many of the philosophies in the Analects are close to common sense, but they are still profound, and there is loftiness in the mundane, and greatness in the ordinary, which is the spirit of Chinese culture represented by Confucius. Reading the Analects is like having a dialogue with Confucius through the millennium, and it has taught me that we should value the value of the individual to the family, the country, society and history!
Zi said: "If you learn without thinking, you will be reckless, and if you don't think about it, you will die." This is to educate us to combine "learning" and "thinking" in our study and life, and to study diligently, so that we can achieve success in learning. Just like the explanation of Cheng Zi in later generations:
Erudition, interrogation, prudence, discernment, and dedication are five things, and one of them is abolished, and it is not learning. ”
Zi said: "If the fish loses water, it will die, and if the water loses the fish, it will still be water." In this way, the king is taught to practice benevolent government, to be able to help more when he attains the Tao, and to understand the aspirations of the people.
Zi said: "If you hear the Tao, you can die at night", "If you don't cultivate virtue, you can't learn it, you can't move when you hear righteousness, and you can't change it if you're not good, it's my worries." What a rare character to be in the tireless pursuit of students and truth!
A copy of the Analects has given me a lot of insights, and many of the truths and spirits in it are worthy of reference for our descendants. In particular, the "golden mean" is in line with the harmonious society advocated today. The kind of morality and function of Confucianism can become the destination for people to settle down and take spiritual refuge.
As mentioned in the "Analects of Yongye", "quality is better than literature, literature is better than history, literature is courteous, and then gentlemen." ”
