Translation of the Ten Analects and knowledge points

1. Zi said: "When you learn and learn it, don't you also say (yuè)? Have friends come from afar, are you happy? People don't know and not 愠 (yùn), not also gentlemen?

Translation: Confucius said, "Isn't it also pleasant to study (knowledge) and then review it for a certain period of time?" Isn't it also happy to have like-minded people from afar? Isn't it also a gentleman's act to be angry (resentful) if others do not understand?

2, Zeng Zi said: "My day three provinces (xǐng) my body: seeking for others and not being loyal? Making friends and not believing them? Are you used to it? ”

Translation: Zeng Tzu said: "I ask myself many times a day: Do I do my best to do things for others? Is it honest to associate with friends? Has the knowledge imparted by the teacher been reviewed? ”

3. Zi Mao Li said: "Reviewing the old and learning the new can be a teacher." ”

Translation: Confucius said: "If you can review what you have learned, you can have new experiences and discoveries, and you can become a teacher by virtue of this." ”

4. Zi said: "If you learn without thinking, you will be reckless, and if you think without learning, you will die." ”

Translation: Confucius said, "If you only read without thinking, you will be confused and will not gain anything, and if you only dream without reading, you will be harmful." ”

5, Zi said: "By, the girl knows!" Knowing is knowing, not knowing is not knowing, and knowing is knowing. ”

Translation: Confucius said, "Zhongyou, teach you how to deal with things!" To know is to know, not to know is not to know, this is wisdom and wisdom. ”

6. Zi said: "See the virtuous and think together, and see the unvirtuous and introspect." ”

Translation: Confucius said, "When you see a person of high moral character, learn from him, hoping to be on par with him." When you see someone with bad moral character, you should reflect on whether you have the same problem.

7, Zi said: "If you are a threesome, you must have my teacher; Choose those who are good and follow them, and change those who are not good. ”

Translation: Confucius said, "When several people are together, there must be my teacher among them." Choose their strengths to learn, and (find yourself too) their shortcomings to be corrected.

8, Zeng Zi said: "Scholars can't fail to Hongyi, and there is a long way to go." Benevolence is its own responsibility, isn't it also important? Death is gone, isn't it far away? ”

Translation: Zeng Tzu said: "A soldier cannot but be strong and courageous, (because he) has a great mission and a long way to go." Isn't it also very important to regard the realization of the ideal of "benevolence" as one's own hidden mission? Isn't it also far away when it dies and stops? ”

9, Zi said: "The year is cold, and then I know that the pine and cypress will wither." "Stuffy search.

Translation: Confucius said: "In the bitter winter, you will know that the pines and cypresses are the last to wither." ”

10, Zigong asked: "Who has a word that can be practiced for life?" Zi said: "It is forgiven! Do unto others as you would have them do to you. ”

Translation: Zigong asked Confucius, "Is there a word that can be practiced for life?" ”

Confucius said, "That's probably 'forgiveness'!" Don't inflict on others what you hate. ”
