Why is seawater bitter and salty? Before, I didn't know why seawater is bitter and salty, but after reading "100,000 Whys", I know that it is because seawater contains a lot of salt. Sodium chloride is the table salt that people usually eat, and the taste is salty; Magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate have a bitter taste, and as a result, sea water is bitter and salty.
"100,000 Whys" also answers that shrimp and crabs are cyan when they are alive, and they turn red when they are cooked, because there is a lot of melanin in undercooked shrimp and crabs, and the melanin in cooked shrimp and crabs is gone, only red pigment, so they become red.
