This is caused by the automatic aggregation of focus on a control with a tabindex property of 0 when the VB form is running. You can set the tabindex property of other controls on the form to 0, for example, set the tabindex property of a text box to 0

Go back or set the tab order for most of the objects in the parent form.

By default, Visual Basic assigns a tab order when you draw a control on a form.

The exceptions are menu, timer, data, image, line, and shape controls, which are not included in the tab
