1. In terms of self-discipline, the association conscientiously performs its duties in accordance with the law and the articles of association, helps member units to better assume their due social responsibilities, promotes industry self-discipline, promotes fair competition, coordinates conflicts of interest, and safeguards the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises and consumers. In view of the regional and "quasi-market" characteristics of urban water affairs, the association will organize research and establish a "peer comparative competition mechanism" as soon as possible, build a "benchmark management platform", and provide opportunities for enterprise managers to learn from each other and learn from each other by comparing and evaluating the performance of different enterprises in the same industry (such as cost, quality, environment, etc.), encourage enterprises in different regions to carry out comparative competition, and encourage enterprises to improve operational efficiency and service quality.

2. In terms of supervision, the association actively creates conditions to undertake some of the functions that can be transferred after the transformation of the functions of the first department, undertakes appropriate social affairs, and assumes corresponding social responsibilities. At present, the focus is on how to standardize the behavior of the urban water market and establish a market access and exit mechanism. Through the preparation of standards and specifications, the formulation of technical regulations and other means, the association assists and urges water enterprises to strengthen the monitoring of water source quality, water supply quality and drainage quality, strive to improve service quality, and effectively safeguard the rights and interests of consumers.

3. In terms of service, the association should not only actively reflect the reasonable demands of member units, but also provide technical services, policy consultation and professional training for member units such as urban water supply pure trousers, drainage, and water-saving enterprises and institutions; It is also necessary to listen to the voice of consumers, release industry-related information, be a good staff member of the competent department, and provide suggestions for the development of the industry.

4. In terms of communication, the association makes full use of the human resources advantages of the expert team, strengthens the construction of "two journals, one newspaper and one newspaper", further improves the quality and expands social influence. Based on China's urban water industry, it is necessary to open up the exchange platform to international counterparts, further strengthen the exchange of experience, information and academic exchanges, and make due contributions to promoting the reform of the industry system, promoting the scientific and technological progress of the industry, promoting the overall planning of urban and rural areas, and building a harmonious society.

The full name of China Urban Water Supply Association is China Urban Water Supply and Drainage Association (English name: China Urban Water Association, abbreviation: CUWA) is a social organization under the guidance of the Ministry of Construction, with urban water supply enterprises and local urban water supply as the main body and relevant units or individuals voluntarily participating in it.

Founded on April 21, 1985, China Urban Water Supply Association has 2,672 members, including basic group members, group members, individual members, invited members and honorary members.

The member congress is held once every 4 years, the council is the executive body of the member congress, leading the association to carry out daily work during the intersessional period of the member congress, responsible for the member congress, the council has 1 president, 13 vice presidents, and the current president is Li Zhendong. There are seven committees under the China Water Association, namely the Water Supply Committee, the Drainage Committee, the Science and Technology Committee, the Water Conservation Committee, the Equipment and Materials Committee, the Publication Committee and the Political and Ideological Committee. The permanent body of the China Water Association is the Secretariat, which has 1 Secretary-General and 5 Deputy Secretary-General, and the current Secretary-General is Shao Yisheng.

The Secretariat consists of the General Department, the Development Department, the Consulting Department, the Finance Department and other functional institutions, which are mainly responsible for secretarial, foreign affairs, training, planning, organization, information, consulting, service, certification, membership dues, finance, statistics and other related work, and at the same time, guide and coordinate the work of other organizations of the association. The day-to-day work of the Secretariat is presided over by the Deputy Secretary-General, who is currently Liu Zhiqi.

The purpose of the association is: adhere to the four basic principles, abide by the constitution and laws, conscientiously implement the principles and policies of the party and the state, promote industry management, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of members, reflect the wishes of members, promote horizontal exchanges between enterprises, provide various forms of services for members, and play the role of a bridge between the competent authorities and enterprises, and promote the development of urban water supply and drainage.
