In 701 A.D., Li Bai, the word is too white, and the name is Qinglian Jushi. His ancestral home was Chengji in Longxi (now Qin'andong, Gansu), and he was born in the first year of Chang'an (701 AD) in the Western Regions (now the Chu River valley south of Lake Balkhash). When he was young, he moved with his father to Qinglian Township, Changlong, Mianzhou (now Jiangyou County, Sichuan).
The young man shows his talent, recites poetry, is knowledgeable, and is easy to exercise. Since leaving Sichuan at the age of 25, he has been roaming around for a long time, and has experienced many aspects of social life. During this period, because of the recommendation of Wu Jun and others, Hanlin was enshrined in Tianbaochu.
But not taken seriously politically. He was slandered by the powerful and left Chang'an after only a little more than a year, and his political ambitions were not realized, which made him gain a deeper understanding of the political corruption at that time. Tianbao has been friends with the poet Du Fu in Luoyang for three years.
In the Anshi Rebellion, with the will to quell the chaos, he was a staff member of King Yong, but he was exiled to Yelang because of the defeat. Halfway through, he met amnesty and returned to the east, wandered and suffered in his later years, and died on the way. According to the earliest documents (Tang Li Yangbing's "Caotang Collection Preface" and Tang Fan Chuanzheng's "Tang Zuo's Relics of Hanlin Scholar Li Gongxin's Tombstone and Preface"), Li Bai was the ninth grandson of Li Gao, the founder of the Xiliang Kingdom, one of the Five Hu and Sixteen Kingdoms, and his ancestral home was Chengji, Longxi (now Qin'an, Gansu).
In the last years of the Sui Dynasty, Li Bai's ancestors were exiled to the Western Regions for sin or other reasons, changed their names incognito, and lived in exile for the fifth generation, and in the first year of the Shenlong of Tang Zhongzong (705 AD), Li Bai's father returned to the mainland with his family and settled in Changlong (now Jiangyou, Sichuan) in Mianzhou, Western Shu, and restored the surname Li at the same time. The emperor of the Tang Dynasty was also a descendant of Li Gao, so when Li Bai grew up, he often joined forces with the children of the Tang clan in social interactions, and was called a brother, uncle or nephew, or grandchild. However, it may be because Li Bai's house has experienced an accident at the end of the Sui Dynasty and nearly a hundred years of exile, and it is "difficult to find a spy", so it has not been officially recognized by Zongzheng Temple, which was in charge of the royal family in the Tang Dynasty.
At present, some scholars who study Li Bai have checked the generational relationship between Li Bai and the children of the clan marked in the poems and texts with Li Bai calling himself the ninth grandson of Li Gao, and found that it is often contradictory, and it is quite common for people to pretend to be the clan and associate with each other in order to elevate their own family at that time, so they believe that Li Bai is not really a descendant of Li Gao. Li Bai's life activities were mainly in the Xuanzong and Suzong eras in the middle of the Tang Dynasty. In the fourteenth year of Xuanzong Tianbao (755 AD), a great war broke out that swept half of China - the Anshi Rebellion.
This war lasted for eight years, and it was not until the first year of Daizong Guangde (763 AD) that it finally subsided. The war has severely damaged social production in the Yellow River valley and caused catastrophe to the vast number of people. Since then, the Tang Dynasty has begun to decline, the feudal centralization has been weakened day by day, the separatist forces of feudal towns are relatively strong, and wars have continued.
Li Bai's life is in this historical period from entering its heyday to its sharp decline. He was an eyewitness and witness to many major events of this period, as well as a prominent singer of this era.
