After graduating from Nanjing University of Political Science in July 1989, he was engaged in propaganda and reporting work in the regiment, division and military headquarters. He has won the third-class merit twice and the regimental commendation five times. In January 1991, he retired from the army and was arranged to work as a journalist at Yangxin TV.

During his work as a propaganda reporter and journalist, he wrote a total of 1,295 press releases of more than 500,000 words, which were successively published in more than 50 national, provincial and municipal newspapers and periodicals, such as "People's Liberation Army", "Legal System", "Tianjin", "Hubei", "Economy", "China Entrepreneur Magazine", "Party Member Life", "Bosom Friend", "Love, Marriage and Family" and "Xianning". Among them, more than 200 articles, such as "Leaving Only Green in the World", "Burning Glass", "Gray Hope" and "Small Boat Riding the Sea", have been published in national newspapers and periodicals, of which 81 have won heavy awards. At the same time, he personally took command of various major propaganda activities of the county's four major families over the years, such as the county's well-known "five rectifications and one speed-up" and "clearing expenses and curbing chaos" and other major activities, and he was the main writer and photographer.

In July 1982, he graduated from Southwest University of Political Science and Law with a bachelor's degree in law. After graduation, Yu Yezhao successively served as a teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor, professor, and secretary of the Party branch, deputy director, deputy director and director of the Academic Affairs Office of the Procedural Law Teaching and Research Department.
