Liu Wendian (A.D. 1889-1958), the name Shuya, was formerly known as Wen Cong, and the pen name was Liu Tianmin. A native of Hefei, Anhui Province. His ancestral home is Huaining County.
He has served as a professor at Peking University, president of Anhui University, and director of the Department of Chinese Literature at Tsinghua University. In 1938, he went to Kunming and successively taught at Southwest Associated University and Yunnan University, and was a member of the Jiusan Society. He has been engaged in the research and teaching of ancient books and ancient literature throughout his life.
He taught courses from the pre-Qin period to the Han Dynasty, from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties to modern times, from Greece, India, Germany, and Japan, from ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, to the present. There is also a math teacher of the same name.

Liu Wenxi (October 17, 1933-July 7, 2019), born in Shuizhu Village, Changle Town, Shengzhou, Zhejiang Province, is a master of Chinese character painting, and one of the representative painters of "Zhejiang School Figure Painting".

Liu Wenxi was born in 1933 in Shengzhou, Zhejiang Province. Honorary President of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Dean and Professor of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. In 1953, he entered the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, under the direct teaching of the master Mr. Pan Tianshou and other professors, and after graduating in 1958, he voluntarily worked in the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts.
He is a deputy to the 7th and 8th National People's Congress and an expert with outstanding contributions in the country. He is a member of the 6th China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the 1st Chinese Painting Art Committee of the China Artists Association. He is currently the vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, the vice chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the vice chairman of the Shaanxi Artists Association, and the vice mayor of Yan'an City.

In 1906, he entered the Anhui Public School in Wuhu, where he actively participated in anti-Qing activities under the influence of his teachers Chen Duxiu and Liu Shipei, and joined the League in 1907. In 1909, he went to Japan and studied at Waseda University, during which he actively participated in revolutionary activities and studied "Shuowen" with Zhang Taiyan.
In 1912, he returned to China and ran the "Minli Daily" in Shanghai with Youren and Shao Lizi, serving as a translator. In 1913, he went to Japan again to serve as the secretary of Sun Yat-sen's secretariat, and joined the Chinese Revolutionary Party, engaged in activities against Yuan Shikai's restoration. After returning to China in 1916, he was introduced by Chen Duxiu to teach at Peking University, and was engaged in the collation of ancient books.
Before and after May Fourth, he worked in English for "New Youth". During his time at Peking University, he taught courses such as Huainanzi research, collation, and pre-Qin Zhuzi studies. In 1927, he served as the dean of the Faculty of Letters, the director of the preparatory department, and the president of Anhui University.
In 1928, he returned to Peking University to teach. In 1929, he became a professor and director of the Department of Chinese Literature at Tsinghua University, and concurrently a professor at Peking University. In 1938, he moved to Kunming and taught at the Southwest Associated University.
In 1943, he served as a professor in the Department of Literature and History of Yunnan University until his retirement. He was elected to the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
