Since 2014, the Xinjiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, together with more than 10 scientific research institutes in China, has used environmental archaeology, electric (magnetic) geophysical prospecting, and remote sensing to assist the excavation work. The researchers used carbon-14 dating data on the unearthed wood and Qixue bones, and also showed that the Shichengzi site was dated to the Han and Han dynasties.

In 74 A.D., the Eastern Han Dynasty restored the Western Regions in the Western Regions, and Geng Gongtun, the captain of the Wu School, was full of Jinmancheng.
