In order to implement the "Intention of the Communist Party of China on Deepening the Reform of the Medical and Health System" and actively do a good job in the prevention and control of chronic diseases, on May 8, 2012, 15 departments including the Ministry of Health issued the "Work Plan for the Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Diseases in China (2012-2015)" with No. 34 of 2012.
