Marriage Registration Instructions: Marriage Registration Procedures.
The application of both the male and female parties is accepted, examined, and registered (issued).
a) The Marriage Registry has jurisdiction.
(2) The man and woman who wish to marry jointly submit an application to the marriage registration office.
3) The male is at least 22 years old and the female is at least 20 years old.
4) Neither of the parties has a spouse (unmarried, divorced, widowed).
5) The parties have no direct blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within three generations.

7) The parties submit 3 large 2-inch recent half-length bareheaded group photos**.
8) Mainland residents shall submit their permanent residence booklet and resident identity card for marriage registration. Hong Kong residents, Macao residents, and Taiwan residents shall submit the following documents and supporting materials:
1. Valid pass and ID card of the applicant.
2. A statement notarized by a notary public in the place of residence that the person has no spouse and that he has no direct blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within three generations with the other party.
Conditions for accepting an application for divorce registration:
a) The Marriage Registry has jurisdiction.
(ii) The spouses who request a divorce jointly file an application at the marriage registry office.
3) Both parties have full capacity for civil conduct.
4) The parties are in possession of a divorce agreement, which sets out the parties' intention to divorce voluntarily and the opinions reached by consensus on matters such as child support, property and debt disposal.
5) The parties hold a marriage certificate issued by the marriage registration authority.
6) Each of the parties submits two 1-inch single recent half-length bareheaded tickets**.
7) Mainland residents should submit their permanent residence booklet and resident identity card, and Hong Kong residents, Macao residents and Taiwan residents should submit their valid passes and identity cards.

Marriage Registration Procedures:
1. Both the man and the woman shall apply for marriage registration in person at the civil affairs bureau where one party is registered;

Article 4 of the Marriage Registration Regulations.
When a mainland resident marries, both the man and the woman shall jointly go to the marriage registration authority at the place where one of the parties has a permanent residence to register the marriage.
Where a Chinese citizen marries a foreigner in Chinese mainland, or a mainland resident marries a Hong Kong resident, a Macao resident, a Taiwan resident or an overseas Chinese in Chinese mainland, both men and women shall jointly go to the marriage registration authority at the place where the mainland resident's permanent residence is located to register the marriage.

Mainland residents who apply for marriage registration shall present the following certificates and supporting materials:
1) The person's household registration booklet and ID card;
2) A signed statement that he or she has no spouse and no direct blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within three generations with the other party.

Legal analysis: To get married, both parties must apply for marriage registration in person at the marriage registration authority where one of the parties has a household registration, and the following documents and proofs shall be presented when applying: (1) household registration certificate; (2) Resident ID card; If they have been divorced, they shall also hold a divorce certificate.
