There are also various plants with a spicy smell that can also affect qi, such as garlic, shallots, peppers and other plants. Taoist regulations are not without reason, but after a long history, there are some things that we only know but don't know why, so they have become inexplicable regulations in the eyes of outsiders.

The Quanzhen sect of Taoism is vegetarian, because of the cultivation of Dangong, the Taoist priests and Taoist laymen of the Zhengyi faction are vegetarian on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, and do not eat beef, dog meat, mullet, wild geese and snake meat the rest of the time.
