Harmony and the four elephants are the terms of Qigong Neidan. The "harmony" and "four elephants" in "harmony and four elephants" are not juxtaposed, but "harmony" as a verb, which means that "four elephants" and "four elephants" are combined. "Harmony", which means Sanskrit, is one of the hundred dharmas mentioned by the Enlightenment Sect, one of the twenty-four non-corresponding practices, which refers to the causes of the formation of the dharmas, the nature of being able to harmonize with each other, and the characteristics of the collection.
The object of "harmony" here is the "four elephants". What are the "four elephants"?There are different opinions on this, and ancient Chinese astrology believes that the "four elephants" are the "four spirits".
In ancient China, the sky was divided into east, north, west, and south regions, and was divided into green dragons, white tigers, vermilion birds, and xuanwu. The "four elephants" are the dragon elephant in the east, the turtle and snake elephant in the north, the white tiger elephant in the west and the vermilion bird elephant in the south. For Taoist Neidanshu, some believe that the four elephants refer to the eyes, ears, nose, and tongue.
Jindan Four Hundred Words Preface": "With a vision, condensing the rhyme of the ears, adjusting the snort, and keeping the tongue silent, it is for the harmony of the four images." Tian Chengyang believes that "the lung system is gold, the liver is wood, the kidney system is water, the heart is fire, and the spleen is earth."
Gold can produce water, and kidney water is the essence of the day after tomorrow, so it is the lung gold on behalf of the innate Yuan Qi;Wood can make fire, and heart fire is the acquired god, so liver wood represents the innate god. Dan Dao must merge the two gods and Qi in the spleen and soil of the middle palace, so that the gods can be gathered together and condensed into Dan. He believes that the four elephants refer to the lungs, liver, kidneys, and heart, and the four converge in the spleen and soil of the middle palace, which is called "the four elephants of harmony".

To borrow the Q&A, the user: turn over and reply to you.
The four are selfless, no-man, sentient beings, and lifeless. It can also be said that there are four phases of birth, residence, and destruction. All appearances are vain.
If you can live in the same place, there will be no sentient beings in your heart, no Buddhas, equality, and no two. All beings are Buddhas, and Buddhas are all beings. Seeing what is not the same is what it is, that is, seeing it is like coming.
This is the way to practice, to see each other and to look at each other. After a long time, after attaining enlightenment, you will become a Buddha.

The self-appearance, the human appearance, the appearance of sentient beings, and the appearance of the long-lived, I know that these are the four mental aspects of ignorance and loss of true heart put forward by the "Diamond Sutra". Now it is a matter of personal understanding.
I am the face, I am attached to me, and I can't be the true self if I can't be clear and empty, this is my face.
Physiognomy. There is a counterpart outside my team, and it is impossible to enter the outside of the heart.
The appearance of all beings. Delusions, insights, greed, hatred, ignorance, and suspicion are the faces of all beings.
The longevity of the face. I see stubbornness, reluctance, and the impermanence of all things is eliminated, which is the appearance of longevity.
The Dizang Sutra says: "All sentient beings in Yanfu Di are sins when they start their hearts", which means that people have their hearts and minds, lose their hearts, and fall into these four phases.

"Diamond Sutra" frequently appears, "I look, human face, sentient beings, longevity phase", "Buddha said that I look, human face, sentient beings, longevity phase, that is, not me, human face, sentient beings, longevity phase". "If a bodhisattva has the appearance of self, the appearance of people, the appearance of sentient beings, and the appearance of the long-lived, he is not a bodhisattva."
In a literal sense, appearance, appearance, and posture can be understood here as a general term for behavioral performance. The four phases are the typical characteristics of the behavior of self, others, sentient beings, and long-lived beings.
The Diamond Sutra is Mahayana Buddhism, which talks about how to generate bodhichitta. In Buddhism, there are two selflessness: people have no self, and the Dharma has no self.
Selflessness, i.e., non-attachment to this"Me"Appearance. The six ancestors heard that "they should have no place to live and give birth to their hearts", and they had an epiphany. At the time of the great examination of the sect, Professor Shenxiu wrote a self-humble verse
The body is a Bodhi tree, and the heart is like a mirror.
Always wipe diligently, don't make dust.
The six ancestors can reflect and make:
Bodhi has no tree, and the mirror is not a platform.
There has never been anything, and there is no place to stir up dust.
The six ancestors can be said to be profoundly aware of the essence of "no four phases". He said, "Practitioners have four phases. The mind has the distinction between the power and the object, and the contempt for sentient beings becomes my appearance.
Those who hold the vows by themselves and break the vows lightly are called human appearances. Tired of the three paths, the primordial heavens, are the appearance of all beings. The heart loves for many years and cultivates the blessings diligently, and the law is not forgotten, which is the appearance of longevity.
Those who have the four phases are sentient beings, and those who do not have the four phases are (probably) bodhisattvas. ”
Other than that. The "Yuanjue Sutra" also explains the four phases:
Good man, what do you look like? It is said that the ...... of those who are witnessed by the hearts of all living beings
Who is the cloud? It is said that the enlightened minds of all sentient beings ......
What are the clouds? It is said that the minds of all sentient beings are beyond the reach of self-enlightenment......
What is the longevity of the cloud? It is said that all sentient beings have a pure mind, and all karmic wisdom is not seen by themselves, just like the root of life. ”
These explanations are explained from the point of view of the mind, and they are already relatively transparent.
What is the purpose of understanding these four phases? If you understand these four phases, you don't need to drink too much chicken soup for the soul, and you don't need to twist your dreams upside down on "my phase". Seeing through the red dust and being able to enter the red dust, the so-called not afraid of life and death, not staying in Nirvana, and becoming more and more sophisticated, can we truly achieve ourselves and even purify sentient beings.

Later Qin Gu Morosh, the main thing he wrote was the life experience of the major Buddhist gods.
When we read the Diamond Sutra, it is said that a bodhisattva should be in the Dharma and should not dwell in the Dharma, and the so-called non-stop color and charity, and do not stop the sound, fragrance, taste, touch, and Dharma giving. Subodhi, the Bodhisattva should be so generous, not dwelling in the appearance. >>>More
