I often go to art museums to see paintings by some of the great masters. At the Zhejiang Art Museum, I have seen that there are many painters whose creations about history are basically three-dimensional space, often only showing a historical moment or event, such as famous paintings such as "Capture of ** Mansion". Can we use a transcendent form of time and space to express some of the historical processes of mankind?
In this way, I had the idea of using dozens of historical figures in the fields of military, science, painting, **, etc. When it came time to create a creative idea at the end of my junior year, I didn't hesitate to choose this idea of mine, about the alternation of time and space. After a series of continuous revisions and improvements, such as sketches, finalizations, line drawings, and upper plates, a relatively ideal picture was finally formed.
Although the whole painting is romantic, it is realistic in the form of expression, and I want to break the traditional perspective and light source, and set the overall color tone to warm colors, because warm colors symbolize the light of human beings, and dozens of celebrities are the support of the whole picture. In terms of the placement of the characters, I want to express a kind of interest in the theme, not only the contrast between ancient and modern, but also highlights the contrast between China and the West, such as Wu Changshuo, Xu Beihong and Picasso put together a bunch, Napoleon and Sun Yat-sen stand together, and next to Plato with a mask is Confucius, etc., which is a bit absurd but interesting. In the way the characters are drawn, they also want to highlight their characteristics through details, such as the wine glass held by Li Bai, Li Siguang who is holding a magnifying glass to observe the stone, Mei Lanfang who has not yet taken off the costume, and Hawking who is in a wheelchair.
In addition, I added some traditional Chinese elements to the picture, such as the dragon relief on the stone wall behind Jackson, the green landscape mural on the upper right of Sun Yat-sen, the terracotta warriors and horses and the ancient tripods next to him, and the wooden tablets scattered on the ground.
In the middle of the picture is the vast universe, the universe is space, the universe is time, and the dark color gives people a mysterious, profound and endless reverie, in which anything can happen. On the left is a more mottled mural, and on the right is a modern and fashionable advertising sticker, which reflects the alternation of the old and the new with the traditional Chinese representative of flying and high-tech representative Sputnik.
I named this work "Rong", and one word encapsulates all the meanings to be expressed: ancient and modern, Chinese and Western, old and new. I only hope that people can not only relish the identification of the characters at the same time as this painting, but also feel some deep things is the best.
In a word: the sages are all over, and the young are long and salty.
