Fables. "Self-contradiction" tells us not to contradict what we say and do, and we can't justify ourselves. Do everything before you think twice and seek truth from facts.
Self-contradiction" from "Han Feizi".
A man from Chu who sold shields and spears praised his shield and said, "My shield is so strong that nothing sharp can penetrate it." And he boasted of his spear, saying:
My spear is so sharp that it can pierce anything strong. He was asked, "What will happen if you pierce your shield with your spear?"
The man could not answer.
It is impossible for an impregnable shield and a spear that can pierce everything at the same time, and this is a logical error. This warns us that we should seek truth from facts when we speak and do things, and that we should not "contradict ourselves" and become a laughing stock.
Extension: From a philosophical point of view, the practice of human society and the development of science in general.
The history proves that all forms of movement contain contradictions, and that everything is an opposite.
The unity and contradiction are the commonality of all things. There is a contradictory movement in the development process of every thing from beginning to end, and the existence of contradictions is universal and absolute. The contradictions in ideas and concepts are a reflection of the contradictions that prevail in the objective world.
To understand things is to understand the contradictions of things, and scientific understanding lies in studying the contradictions inherent in objective objects. If we deny contradictions, we cannot talk about a truly scientific understanding. Adhering to the principle of the universality of contradictions and observing all problems from the viewpoint of unity of opposites is the basic premise of all scientific understanding and materialist dialectics.
One of the fundamental requirements of cosmology.

The fable "Self-Contradiction" tells the story of a man who boasts of the spear and shield he sells at the same time, but cannot justify himself because of his contradictions. He warned people that they must seek truth from facts when speaking and doing things, and must not exaggerate or contradict themselves. The moral of "Self-Contradiction" is that you must be consistent in your words and deeds, and you can't violate the objective laws of things, and you can't convince yourself first; It is also a metaphor for inconsistency or resistance in what you say and do.

1. Understand that you should think twice before doing things and speaking, and you can't contradict each other.
2. It is impossible for an unbreakable shield and an indestructible spear to coexist in the world, and this Chu person one-sidedly exaggerated the role of spear and shield, resulting in a situation that cannot be justified. The metaphor is inconsistent in what it says and does, and it cannot be justified by itself.
3. A person cannot make diametrically opposed judgments on the same issue in the same judgment. If you do, you are making a logical mistake. Contradiction is the universal form of the existence of things, and there is a contradiction in everything, whether it is the objective world of matter, 4, or the subjective world of thinking, there are contradictions and problems.
Contradictions are not necessarily bad. Only when there are contradictions can things progress and development. The key is that we should understand, analyze, study, and resolve contradictions.
Only in this way can things develop.
