Aleksandar Jankovic, born on May 6, 1972 in Belgrade, Serbia, is a Serbian football player and coach, and currently serves as the head coach of the Chinese men's national football team.
As a player, Jankovic played for Red Star Belgrade, ASC Sydney, AS Cherbourg and other teams. Career
Aleksandar Jankovic, born on May 6, 1972 in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, has played for Red Star Belgrade (Serbia), ASC Sydney (Australia), AS Cherbourg (France), FC Pau (France) and other teams.
In 1982, at the age of 10, Jankovic joined the Red Star Academy in Belgrade, where he stayed for more than eight years, and also served as the captain of the 72-year-old Red Star Academy. Not only that, but Jankovic also picked up more than 250 games for the big brothers as a ball boy at the home of Red Star Belgrade.
In the 1982 Champions League, Red Star lost 2-4 at home to Barcelona, and when Maradona lobed a classic moment for Stojanovic, Jankovic picked up the ball on the sidelines.
In 1992, Jankovic began his career in Australia, a local club with the White Eagles, before moving to French sides Cherbourg and Pau, and then to Kansas City in the United States. Later, after suffering a meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament tear in his knee, the 28-year-old Jankovic said goodbye to his playing career.
