The Battle of Qingdao between Japan and Germany in 1914
On July 28, 1914, World War I broke out, and Japan believed that the time had come to send troops to Shandong and Qingdao, so it immediately made combat arrangements and formulated an operational plan for attacking Qingdao.
On August 15, 1914, Japan issued an ultimatum to Germany to hand over all the leased land of Jiaozhou Bay to Japan unconditionally by September 15, for future return to China. Germany must immediately withdraw from the sea of Japan and China, and if it cannot retreat, it must immediately disarm.
At the same time, Japan** declares that it will take the necessary measures if it does not receive an unconditionally accepted reply from Germany by 12 noon on 23 August.
The Japanese troops who landed from Longkou did not encounter obstacles, drove straight in, crossed Pingdu, arrived at Jimo, and arrived in Jiaozhou, seizing civilian houses along the way, forcibly shopping goods, injuring and killing people, and doing all kinds of evil. On 26 September, the Japanese army soon occupied Weixian and rapidly advanced westward along the Jiaoji line.
On October 6, Jinan Station was occupied. The Japanese army occupied the entire railway line and all the nearby organs, stationed Japanese troops along the way, and the roadmen gradually changed to Japanese.
The German troops defending Qingdao were in an unfavorable situation of being attacked by land and sea from both the ground and the sea. On October 31, the Japanese organized superior forces to launch a fierce attack on the Germans. The German Bismarck Fort at Qingdao Mountain and the Ilchis Fort at Taiping Mountain were completely destroyed.
On November 7, the Japanese captured the German fortress Yiyidongzhen Fort and Coastal Fort.

In 1919, the May Fourth Movement took place.
The May Fourth Movement was a patriotic movement that took place in Beijing on May 4, 1919, mainly young students and with the participation of the masses, citizens, businessmen and other strata.
Causes of the May Fourth Movement:
During the First World War, the European powers had no time to look eastward, and Japan seized the opportunity to intensify its aggression against China, which seriously undermined China's sovereignty. Anti-Japanese sentiment among the Chinese people is growing day by day. In January 1919, Britain, the United States, France, Japan, Italy, and other victorious powers convened a peace conference with Germany in Paris, and decided that Japan would inherit Germany's privileges in Shandong, China.
China was one of the victorious countries to participate in the declaration of war against Germany, but the Beiyang warlords** were ready to accept this decision. The failure of Chinese diplomacy at this reconciliation conference sparked the great May Fourth Movement.
The following is the chronological order:
