My personal favorite is the Sahara Desert and the Scarecrow Notes.
Sahara is also Sanmao's famous work, and reading this book can make me feel the charm and vitality of life.
The Scarecrow's Notes are composed of short stories, and the one that impressed me the most was the first chapter of stealing money It felt like it was really written in my heart and resonated strongly.
It depends on your preferred style.
José's death is one of the most obvious dividing lines, and José's posthumous books are filled with a kind of sadness. It's really miserable to write, and I can't read it anymore because I know how much flowers fall in my dreams, and it's so sad.
It's not bad to go all over the thousands of rivers and mountains, but Sanmao is no longer so sad at that time. Traveling around Latin America, I was impressed by the witchcraft markets and Indian tribes in the book, and the rolling red dust is a book I personally think there are no highlights, which may have been amazing at the time, but now it seems to be a bit of a pretentious love story.
Sanmao (March 26, 1943, January 4, 1991), formerly known as Chen Maoping, later renamed Chen Ping, was born in Chongqing in 1943, moved to Taiwan with his parents in 1948, and is a famous contemporary Chinese writer. In 1967, he went to Spain to study, and later went to Germany and the United States. In 1973, he settled in the Spanish Sahara Desert and married Jose.
After returning to Taiwan in 1981, he taught at the Culture University before resigning in 1984 to focus on writing and speaking. He died in hospital on January 4, 1991, at the age of 48. Sanmao's works are also widely circulated in the Chinese community around the world, and his life works and translations are very rich, with a total of 24 kinds.

I think the Sahara Desert was very exciting.
It can make people all fit into the plot.
Her beautiful love with Jose is enviable

"The Story of the Sahara" The story is stronger, "The Rainy Season Doesn't Come Again" is more emotional, "How Much Do You Know About the Flowers in Your Dreams" The text is more sad It is "The Story of Troubled Learning" written after the death of her husband Mainly writes the story of Sanmao studying abroad.
I think these are the best books to read, you can try them.

Sanmao's "The Story of the Sahara" is probably the happiest time of her life, talking about human nature, war, and staying together. There are witty stories, exotic cultures and reflections on life. It's a pity that Jose died, otherwise, she would have been happy for the rest of her life. · >>>More
