Zuo Quan (1906-1942), also known as Zuo Zilin, was a native of Liling, Hunan, and one of the military generals of the Communist Party of China.
A student of the first phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, he joined the Communist Party of China in 1925, participated in the Eastern Crusade against Chen Jiongming in the same year, and soon went to the Soviet Union to study, returned to China in 1930, served as the chief of staff of the Red First Army, and was promoted to deputy chief of staff of the Eighth Route Army during the War of Resistance against Japan. In 1942, the Japanese army dispatched a large corps to raid the front enemy headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, and Zuo Quan was in charge of the breakout, and was killed by a shell in the Cross Ridge Breakout Battle in Liao County, Shanxi Province (now Zuoquan County). He himself became the supreme commander of the Eighth Route Army who died in the War of Resistance Against Japan.
