What is an Australian Carer Visa

In order to allow international students to be taken care of by their parents or relatives during their studies in Australia, to study under the care of their families, and to relieve their worries about life, the Australian Immigration Department has decided to introduce a student guardian visa.

The purpose of this visa is that if a student is under the age of 18 or needs an adult to accompany them to Australia for physical or cultural reasons, then the student's father, mother and legal guardian or relative can apply to accompany the student to Australia as the student's guardian.

2. The guardian must comply with the following visa terms: (1) cannot participate in work; (2) Unable to participate in more than 3 months of study; (3) must maintain a health deposit for overseas visitors whose guardian has been approved; (4) The student's guardian must continue to meet the requirements of the visa; (5) The guardian must reside with the student who nominated you as the guardian. and, if the student is not more than 18 years old, provide appropriate accommodation, welfare and comprehensive financial assistance; (6) Once the guardian visa is obtained, it must play a guardianship role and enter and exit Australia together with the student.

3. Characteristics of guardian visa: (1) The basic evaluation principles of guardian visa and student visa are the same; (2) The guarantee can also be in the form of bank loans; (3) The review cycle of the guardian visa is the same as that of the student visa, and the review place is also the same as that of the student visa; (4) The guardian visa is valid until the student is 18 years old.

4. Australian companion visa (Australian 580 visa) rights:

1）.The parent or guardian holding a 580 visa will be in Australia for the same period of time as the student will be on the same visa as the student will be studying in Australia, or until the child turns 18 years old.

2）.If the parent or guardian has another child under the age of 6 and there are special reasons, they may be allowed to bring the child with them.

3）.Cannot participate in studies for more than 3 months. If the guardian wants to study in Australia for more than 3 months, he or she will need to apply for a new student visa. This type of visa can be applied to within Australia.
