Disk Partitioning Method:
Step 1Right-click on This PC, select Manage, and then select Disk Management in the left list of the Computer Management window.
In Windows 10, you can also right-click on the start menu and directly select the "Disk Management" function.
<> step 2In the partition list, right-click on the part you want to repartition, select "Compress Volume", and the system will give you the available compressed capacity after analysis.
<> step 3Enter the size of the capacity you want to split.
Note that if it is a system disk, it should have at least 50GB of capacity. After determining the capacity, click "Compress", and when you are done, you will see an unpartitioned free space added to the partition list.
It should be noted here that because the Windows system is calculated according to 1024MB=1GB, and the hard disk manufacturers are converted according to 1000MB=1GB, if you directly input 10000MB, you will not get a 100GB partition.
Step 4Create a simple volume.
Repartitioning into one or more partitions is fine. Just right-click on the space, select "New Simple Volume", and then press the prompt "Next".
Step 5Allocate capacity to other partitions.
For unallocated space, you can also choose to assign it to any of the existing partitions, right-click on the selected partition, select "Extend Volume", and then follow the prompts.

Why partition and formatting?
Generally speaking, a new hard drive needs to go through the process of low format-partition-advanced format, so that it can be used to store information. However, before the new hard drive we bought left the factory, the hard disk seller did a low-level formatting operation on the hard disk with one click, so we need to partition and format the hard disk before using it.
Note: Before partitioning a hard disk, you need to know some basics: since the common partition formats of computers are GPT and MBR, their corresponding boot mode partitions are corresponding to UEFI and Legacy.
Generally speaking, the new motherboard is the default UEFI+GPT mode, because the GPT partition can support more than 2TB large hard disks, and these formats for Win7 64-bit Win8 64-bit Win10 64-bit and other systems are also relatively perfect, which can better start quickly and safely. And some older computers may support Legacy+MBR. Therefore, you should understand the reinstallation or repartitioning by yourself, and don't make a mix and match error like Legacy+GPT or UEFI+MBR.
In addition, before partitioning, for some important data, you can use free backup software: Easy Backup to backup, which supports backing up system, disk, partition, files, scheduled backups, and more.
Procedure. 1.Right-click on "This PC" on the desktop to open the properties.
2.If you turn on System Protection, sometimes the partition fails to be protected by the system protecting the data of the C drive, so turn it off first.
3.Click Configure and select Disable System Protection.
4.Make sure to turn off system protection.
5.Go back to the desktop, right-click on "This PC" and select Manage.
6.Click Storage.
7.Click Disk Management to open the System Hard Disk Manager.
8.At this time, right-click on the C drive on the unpartitioned disk and select Compress Volume.
9.Enter the amount of compression, for example, let's enter 102400MB, which is 100GB.
10.After the compression is completed, the space is unallocated, right-click and select Create Simple Volume.
If you find that you have written the wrong amount of space you want to divide, or you need to redivide the disk, then right-click on the partition that needs to be modified to delete the volume, and then the above steps are OK to re-divide it.
Right-click on the desktop Properties, select Theme, and you're done.
