The meaning is: it is better to ask for others than for yourself, and you must rely on yourself in everything.

No matter how you behave, you must first rely on yourself to gain a firm foothold. When you become truly powerful, you don't need to force it, and the whole world will be kind to you.

The man said, "Guanyin Bodhisattva, doesn't Buddhism talk about universalizing sentient beings, so how about spending my journey?" ”

Guanyin said, "I am walking in the rain, and you hide under the eaves, and there is no rain under the eaves, so why do you need me to save you?" ”

When this man heard Guanyin Bodhisattva say this, he immediately walked out under the eaves and stood in the rain: "Now that I am also in the rain, the Bodhisattva should save me, right?" ”

Guanyin said, "I still can't save you!" ”

Why? The man asked incomprehensibly, explaining, "You are in the rain, and I am in the rain, and I am not caught in the rain because I have an umbrella; You get caught in the rain because you don't have an umbrella.

So it's not me who lives me, it's who I do. If you want to do it, you don't have to look for me, please find your own umbrella. With that, he left, and the man was drenched in the rain.

The next day, the man encountered another problem, so he went to the temple to ask Guanyin Bodhisattva. When I walked in the temple, I found that there was also a person worshipping in front of the statue of Guanyin, and that person looked exactly like Guanyin Bodhisattva, not bad at all. The man asked

Are you Guanyin Bodhisattva? The man replied, "I am Guanyin Bodhisattva!"

Then the man asked, "Then why do you worship yourself?" Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled and said

I also encountered difficulties, but I know that self-discipline and self-discipline are self-controlled, and it is better to seek others than to seek oneself.

There is a story called Buddha Budu Everyone has a Buddhist believer hiding from the rain under the eaves and saw a Zen master walking by with an umbrella, so he shouted: "Zen master, Pudu sentient beings!" Take me for a walk?

But the Zen master said, "I'm in the rain, you're under the eaves, and it's not raining under the eaves, so why do you need me to survive?" Immediately the believer came out from under the eaves, stood in the rain and said:

Now that I'm in the rain, it's time for me, right? "I am in the rain, you are also in the rain, I am not in the rain because I have an umbrella, you are in the rain because I have no umbrella; Therefore, you should not look for me to save you, I am an umbrella, and if you want to be measured, find an umbrella yourself! The Zen master said expressionlessly, and walked away quickly!

Ten thousand volumes of scriptures are not passed on by heart, and it is in vain to memorize them like streams. The Buddha does not live by himself, and the umbrella of a broken word is Zen.

Self-discipline means self-restraint. Live on your own. Overcome oneself and transcend suffering. Measure it yourself.

The heart is you, you are the heart, and everything you do is a reflection of your heart. You are the heart, the heart is the master, and everything you do is your own master. The emptiness pervades the Dharma realm, and all sentient beings share one self-nature, which is called Buddha-nature in Buddhism and Dao-nature in Taoism.

Therefore, propagating and learning to understand one's own nature, returning to one's own nature, and seeing one's own nature with a clear mind is the only right path and the right way.

Self-nature is wrong to say anything, so the Buddha showed the wonderful method of nirvana. I don't know what this thing is, and blind cultivation will not be able to achieve it! Please take a look at how the Zen Gong Case shows the self-nature vividly or allusively to the students in life.

Self-nature refers to the unchanging nature of each law. In Buddhist scriptures, it is also called Buddha nature, Dharma nature, truthfulness, reality, and so on. The reason why all Buddhas become Buddhas is that they have completely realized this "self-nature."

After the enlightenment of the Sixth Patriarch Master: "When is the self-nature self-pure; When the self-nature does not give birth and die; When is the self-nature self-sufficient; When the self-nature is unshaken; What is the period of self-performance and ten thousand laws? "The so-called clear-minded person sees the reality of the vacuum, which is not shaking, does not come or go, does not arise or perish, and can appear according to the circumstances.
