The city of Busan, South Korea, was selected as the venue for the 2020 World Table Tennis Championships at the ITTF Annual General Meeting in Halmstad, Sweden, on the 1st of this month. The World Table Tennis Championships have been held since 1926 and have never been held in South Korea.
The Busan World Table Tennis Championships will begin on March 22, 2020 with a week-long tournament at the Busan Convention and Exhibition Center (BEXCO). More than 2,000 people from 130 countries (including players and team leaders) are expected to participate, which may be the largest in history.
