Biography: Shen Zhibai (1904-1968), a Chinese scholar. Formerly known as Dengying, also known as Junwen and Dunxing. He was born on March 18, 1904 in Wuxing, Zhejiang, in a family of clerks, and died in Shanghai on September 15, 1968.
He lived in Wuchang and studied at home. In 1924, he graduated from Yucai Public School of the Bureau of Shanghai Ministry of Industry. From 1928 to 1945, he served as a teacher of English, mathematics and physics.
From September 1928, he worked and studied at the Teachers College established by the Ministry of Industry, graduating in December 1931. From the late 20s to the mid-30s, he studied his own, and studied piano, theory, drama theory and composition with three foreign artists in Shanghai at that time. From 1940 to 1942, he served as a professor of Chinese and Western history at Hujiang University in Shanghai, and for a time concurrently served as a program consultant for the Shanghai Soviet Voice Radio.
From 1944 to 1945, he served as the pre-director of the China Song and Dance Drama Society. From 1945 to 1948, he served as the art supplement of the Times ** Society. Since 1946, he has been employed as a professor at the National Shanghai ** College, offering courses such as Chinese history and Western history.
In the mid-40s, under the leadership of the Shanghai underground party organization of the Communist Party of China, he did a lot of useful work and supported the patriotic democratic movement of progressive students. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively served as the director of the Research Office of the East China Branch of the First College, the Compilation Office and the Department of Ethnic Studies of the Shanghai First College, and served as the executive director of the China ** Association and the deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Workers.
Shen Zhibai is diligent in his studies, tireless in teaching, and has in-depth research on Chinese and foreign history and theories. In the mid-50s, he edited the theoretical and technical series and the history and biography series, and presided over the translation and publication of H Dolzhansky's "Concise Dictionary". In the early 60s, he served as the editor-in-chief of the first discipline in the compilation of the new edition of Ci Hai, in addition to personally writing and revising the first word interpretation, he also carefully cultivated new forces, and made a certain contribution to improving the quality of the interpretation of the first discipline of Ci Hai.
His theoretical works include: "Outline of China's First History", "Yuan Dynasty Miscellaneous Drama and Southern Song Dynasty Opera", "Western ** Circulation of China", "China", "Poetry and Harmony", etc.; He is the author of "On the Nation" (by Vaughan Williams), "The Law of Orchestration" (W.
