Intel Rapid Storage Technology, or Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST), is a Windows-based application. Useful and can be uninstalled.
The program provides increased performance and reliability for desktop, mobile, and server platform systems equipped with SATA disks. When you use one or more SATA disks, you benefit from increased performance and reduced power consumption. When using multiple disks, you can increase protection against data loss in the event of a disk failure.
System configuration
1. Array. An array is a collection of two or more SATA disks in a RAID configuration and is the highest element in the storage-system hierarchy. Once a volume is created, the disks used to create the volume form an array. See the Creating Extra Volumes topic for details on how to create two volumes across the same disk.
An array can include one or two RAID volumes, as long as the hardware permits.
2. VolumeA volume is a storage area located on two or more disks, and its type determines the configuration of the stored data. If the volume is created for the purpose of data protection, the storage system can include RAID 1 volumes that span two SATA disks, with the data mirrored on each disk.
3. Disk. Disks (i.e., hard disks or hard drives) physically store data and allow read and write access. If a disk is used to create a volume, it becomes an array disk because it is combined with other disks to form an array.
The storage system can also include ATAPI devices that cannot be used to create volumes. An ATAPI device is a mass storage device with a serial interface, such as a CD-ROM, Blu-ray disc, or tape drive.

Useful, not uninstallable, Intel Rapid Storage Technology, or Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST for short), is a Windows-based application.

The storage-system view has two functions:
The graphical view is a simplified representation of your storage system and graphs elements such as arrays, volumes, devices, and ports. Each feature provides general attribute information such as status, name, and size. Hovering over each feature will provide more attribute details.
You can also use the graphical view to access Management by clicking the storage-system element you want to work on. For example, if an array exists, clicking the volume opens the management volume, and clicking an array disk opens the management disk of the selected disk.

Intel Rapid Storage Technology There are two modes: ACI &RAID to turn off Intel Rapid Storage Technology, you must change it in the BIOS The working mode of the disk control card is set to: IDE mode (it will have good compatibility, but it has the worst performance compared to ACI).
It is recommended that keeping Intel Rapid Storage Technology will give you better computer performance.
The "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" you see in the program menu can be uninstalled, but it doesn't actually change the real working mode, it doesn't matter at all if you have it or not.

When you use one or more SATA disks, you benefit from increased performance and reduced power consumption.
When using multiple disks, you can increase protection against data loss in the event of a disk failure. In the practical application of Intel fast storage technology, it mainly has the following functions.
1. Intel Rapid Storage Technology is a Windows-based application.
2. The program provides higher performance and reliability for desktop, mobile computer and server platform systems equipped with SATA disks.
3. When using one or more SATA disks, benefit from improved performance and reduced power consumption.
4. When using multiple disks, it can enhance the protection against data loss in the event of disk failure.
5. For example, after combining an SSD and an HDD, it has the performance of the SSD and the capacity of the HDD.
