Looking abroad, school violence in Western countries is not uncommon. One person was killed and one person was injured in an incident at a middle school in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. At Balou Middle School, students stole mercury from the lab and spilled harmful substances in multiple locations in the school building, so serious that authorities did not close the school for months from October 2 to November 5 last year.

According to reports, 10,000 primary and secondary school students in China do not die every year.
